Last night really showed us all how reliant we are on playing a long ball in the hope that the other teams defence make an error for us to capitalise on. That was our game last night throughout the whole match.

Joel Dixon dropped a couple and nearly gave away a corner after booting it into the wind when it was heading into the box for him to pick up.

We played the same at home to Fylde last year.

1st half
"Right lads, weve got the wind with us so lets play a long ball games"
2nd Half
" right lads, that didn't really work so lets stick at the long balls because the wind should hold it up now"

don`t like criticising players too much in those awful conditions, both sides fairly even, wasn`t grimes night but it was his clever play that made our best chance (for williams ) last night but we showed battling spirit, anyway 4 tough games now, credit to everyone who went last night, that is one of the coldest nights i`ve witnessed at holker street(can`t wait for the new stadium!)

Curtis? very good player for them and been with them an age, always stood out when we used to play them in the league below.

Jordan Williams my man of the match, although that said, our defence did handle almost everything thrown at them so not too fussed about Grandy getting it....could've been just as easily Danny.

Whether Grimes can play or whether it's just down to how we set up & that doesn't suit him I don't know, but he brings nothing to the overall performance....and very rarely has.
The game did move up (half) a gear (which wasn't hard) when we made the two substitutions, I've a feeling it was more to do with the JW one than the AH one though.
just under a 1,000....not too bad considering the condidtions, that was bitterly a cold night.

If we manage to get a point on Saturday that'll be a decent return from them last four games, remember Bayles mini-leagues?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

If I wanted to spend a night being depressed I should have stayed in and watched Eastenders. I was battling to stay awake by half time. No shots on goal just constant punting the ball anywhere and hoping someone, er any Barrow player? would somehow manage to get on the end of at least one of them. I dread what Saturday is going to bring but I will have an abacus in the bag to keep an accurate score. One comment I heard was "I can see us getting a 0-0 out of this". Great!

I wonder what would happen if you had paid for MoM and gave it to someone who hadn't played---Paddy!!!! My shouting at Mr Casson about Pad not playing followed by Cox Out. Cox Out didn't register how rude that sounded until later. I didn't notice anyone responding thank goodness--well it was a cold night so they might have done but went unnoticed.

Halifax are going to get it today too as the rattle still hasn't found it's way back to Barrovia despite the chap giving it a turn over the phone and promising to post it back. I did say I would cover the cost of postage and there hasn't been a ransom note soooooooo.

COME ON THE BLUEBIRDS.

Will be up for Cheltenham at the weekend. Hope its a tad less turgid. My condolences to those who went tonight.
To be honest SB it wasnt the best, the weather conditions completly spoilt the game,no 2 teams at any level could have played football in that swirling wind.I just think some of the clowns on here forget there watching level 5 footballers playing in shocking conditions, some just moan about everthing we know that.
But i must say, the pitch is dreadfull, the ground it falling apart, the toilets are a disgrace, leaving the ground on foot and by car is a joke, the x bar is run by loons, its a joke we dont sell pies, the players are shit, the football is dreadfull, the kit situation is farcical, the shops never open, the commercial side is non existant ,the floodlights are falling down, the stewards are a joke, the turnstiles are never open ,infact i think ill stop going and supporting my local team, armchair and premiership for me,if only i could have a meeting with paul and tell him whats wrong, ill work on it.

You can, you just choose not to.

Possibly too scared to I would imagine.

a former member of this forum of late you have posted many good articles on here, why stoop so low again when Suffolk Blue is right apart from sitting in armchair instead of going to Holker Street.

I think Suffolk Blues and Jo am backs quotes got muddled up, a former member of this forum was just referring to Jo am backs post.

I suppose it all comes down to that key word Paul Cox keeps on using "Consistency"! Consistency in the players and the way they play. We have all witnessed the good the bad and the ugly side of football under Mr Cox and things are still in there infancy under his leadership so he certainly does need time to bring in his own players, but surely some judgements should be and can be made now there are individuals in that side that are of a poorer standard and far less committed than some that were shown the door at the end of last season. It's high time these individuals were removed from the team and those showing at least the desire and commitment that most supporter would find acceptable are given a fair crack of the whip and in some positions that now means loaning in and taking a punt on them being up to it as the support is going to continue to dwindle otherwise.

Hardest part of the game last night was convincing my mates not to leave at half time. They won't be coming back anytime soon.

The wind didn't help matters, but you can at least TRY and attempt to play football. The only positive to take from this one is that we didn't get beat.
