I get what you're saying Ian, but I think this is something you're now going to get all the time. As a director people are now going to link everything you say to the club, rightly or wrongly. I imagine that's pretty frustrating as you're first and foremost a fan with opinions just like everyone else, but its inevitable that its going to happen.

Indeed, especially as a fan-liason officer or whatever it is you are? Absolutely brilliant we have a board member who can post directly on here and answer fans etc, and I know you are genuine in all you say and do, but might be worth remembering that no amount of "these are my personal views" will quite cover it in some instances, might be worth watching it for some subjects.

I would imagine people have the intelligence to differentiate between a statement put out by the club and an individual's opinion. I imagine in the board meetings there are varying differing opinions on matters so why would it be assumed one person's post on here is representative of everyone on the board.
Surely we aren't advocating censoring Spirits opinions whether you agree with what he posts or not.

Course you can police it, very expensive mind but a full line of police shoulder to shoulder would do the trick after PA announcement of every person attempting to encroach will be arrested, but why take the joy away from the fans, Hoss have never run on the pitch at any of our triumphs down the years? I know I have.

No I haven't. i can't imagine I would either. But that's my choice and I really don't have any problem with those who do. It's a once a season celebratory outburst that generally doesn't lead to any trouble.
The point though, is that people running onto the pitch is not wanted and not invited excepting those specific occasions.

But when as is quite often the case there isn't a statement from the club and the only sort of thought we get is from our fans liason officer, to some it can be telling of the BoDs thoughts (as it is certainly a percentage of the BoDs thoughts).

Not suggesting Ian censor himself or anything like that at all, I merely don't want us to come to situations where people are arguing or he feels he can't post on any subject for one reason or another.

Agreed,, Ian was posting his own opinions on here long before he became a director. Surely any intelligent person can realise anything he posts on here unless otherwise stated are his own views.

Perhaps Ian could have two user names; his real name, for example, for official club comments and Spirit for his own, personal, views.

Then no-one would have any difficulty in differentiating between the two. Hopefully.

If the board want to make any statements through Ian, he always states that first when posting.
Any other post he makes is his own opinions.
