Sometimes you need someone who knows where the goal is and can score the easy goals.
Well said Ste, real player.
He was lazy, his decision making was dreadful, he didn't want to play for us. Jesus Ste you went away from home plenty that season! There's a reason he's flourishing in the league below. Grandy is far from lazy and has improved out of sight in the last couple of months but is a maybe for me- I see him going to BPA if Edmo keeps the job as they've got a few quid floating about.

Jason Walker, a great servant to us and still good enough for the level-but not to be on this famed current contract if true..if he's one of 4 strikers vying for a place I doubt we'd get better though.

Tomlinson isn't lazy, I just don't get where that's coming from. I would have him here like a shot, same with Sutton. I think Matt Rhead will end up here.

If Jordan Williams is going to improve at anything like the current rate we will struggle to keep hold of him. An improved, or extended deal might see us in a better bargaining position when clubs come knocking.

Aii J.Williams on an extended deal is a must.

Cook isn't even tied up for next season is he? Be surprised if he's here come August personally.

No mate. Judging from Cox's comments in the Mail today, he's expecting a battle to keep him. What might work in our favour is that he's been down the 'bigger' club route before with Grimsby and it didn't work out. At least here he knows the craic, he's in the team and is almost universally appreciated. If we're moving training to Manchester with an expectation that players live close by* that might be an issue if he doesn't fancy leaving the delights of Ferryhill.

*and that makes sense. I drive from Lancaster to Durham fairly often, same sort of journey he'll be doing for training, and it knacks your legs/hips/back to be sat in the car that long, that often.

Can't see Cook hanging about unless bigger money is involved. If Tranmere don't go up he will end up there.

I don't think Cook will go anywhere.

He knows from previous experience that the grass isn't always greener - he might fancy playing for a bigger club but like Dave said it didn't work out for him last time.

Aii we saw last time, he was off the second a "bigger" club came knocking, and the way he's been playing this year there'll be plenty of interest.

It doesn't mean though that it won't this time around.

Bigger club comes in with more cash and hes out of here. If he is staying why hasn't his contract been sorted yet?

Why? Grand is one of our better players this season. He may have the odd rush of blood but he and Livesey are one of the best CB partnerships in the league.
I think that if Grand is retained as a first team player then it will be a huge disappointment as the club seem to be unearthing some good young players and Livesey and Williams should be joined by 1 or 2 scary [SwearFilter] in their twenties to show a bit of conviction towards team growth.

I hate that you're right ste. Would he though. Probably not.
I think Rowe is fine in a team doing well. Let's see his attitude if fylde are promoted and struggling next season.

We have the 4th worst Defensive record in the league.

But only 1 team has a better defensive record over the last 10 games with a defence including Grand since the manager got some sort of organisation into the team.

Seems to be a lot of conjecture on the Southport board about Louis Almond's future and the hint he may finish up back at HS. Apparently expected to be their Player of the Season. Any thoughts ?

Good player at this level. I guess I've seen his about half a dozen times in away matched and he's played well each time.

Yes.

I thought it was Player of the Year?

Useful lad but I don't think he's good enough for us if we have ambition to progress.
