Replies from the club.....
glasgow_blue wrote:Ian, would be possible that the club could look into giving out free kids tickets on a regular basis? If not every game, maybe 1st home game every month. Doesn't affect me as mine are grown up and no grandkids as yet but it's great to see them at the football and they are the future full payers.
Mike, this is already being looked at as a calendared approach judging on possible weather (time of year) safety level and expected crowds, we will also theme each event.
supporter for life wrote:Previously prior to the game a club official, usually manager, has a talk about the team etc and takes questions. On Saturday some chap appeared with two players and asked if anyone had any questions. To be honest a complete waste of time.
(I'm not entirely certain about the answer on this but...) It looks like meeting the manager is still something the club are doing but for some reason it just never happened on Saturday, as an alternative for that game Grimes & Mellor should have been speaking to the corporates. (did that not happen?)
supporter for life wrote:My other gripe is previously several rows in the stand were reserved for the corporate attendees. This appears to have gone by the wayside and the group I was with were spreadout throughout the stand which did somewhat spoil the day to a certain extent.

The club are looking into putting signs on seats (as in the groups the tables are booked in) because it's been noticed other people have been using in the reserved areas.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Can't you sort of predict it and rope off a corner??

Primary kids- You don't need to say accompanying parent, the club aren't responsible except in the way they are for any safety of fans- although keeping folk from jumping off walls is clearly in the remit. They will sort out who takes who. It takes a way a parental excuse of not wanting to go.

Re secondary school kids. Give em out free for the evening games IMO

Just spoken with Jamie, and apparently why Paul Cox never did the pre-match talk was he was called away because of the warm up injury to S. Williams and had to change his plans for the bench.

Hope that answers a few questions.

Thanks Ian for quickly getting answers. Mellor and Symington came into our room but never did a talk. They were just there to answer any questions anyone had. I can only remember one question being asked. Thanks for the info re the manager. I'm glad the intention is still for the manager to give a talk before the game. It adds to the experience of the day. I can understand his need to sort out the Williams injury problem on Saturday.
As for reserving seats in the stand, that's great. It will avoid groups being seperated from each other.

Ian, I know the clubs not a charity but think it would be good if the club did try and get a few more teenagers interested. Don't think it will work just as a one off game though! The club will probably have to do it over a few games. Something like a buy two consecutive tickets get the next two games free might be an encouraging incentive.

All kids at school including teenagers should get a free ticket for first home game on last day of school before they break up for summer.
Promotions for start of season would be difficult in August as kids are off school.

Just a few lines off the club.

The option of another year on Jordan Williams contract has been exercised in line with appearance conditions.

A positive board meeting took place on Sunday at which discussions took place on various areas including player retention/recruitment, shop and replica kit issues, ground maintenance matters including floodlights and the pre-season campaign.

Hopefully I can get more to keep people informed as we go through pre-season.
