Andy Cook
Re: Andy Cook
Way too rushed for me to buy any "I want to play in the Football League" shit. It's not even the end of May yet, if he wanted to play in the FL then he could've easily waited another month to see if he could find himself a league club, and still been guaranteed a decent rate at a Conference level club without worrying if he'd find himself a place next year.
A bit baffling, but it's his career, whatever.

I'm not bitter, just a little disappointed.

Time to move on now and be more enthusiastic about what we might get then what we've had. Trust the cox and move away from the cookies. We are barrow afc the best club in non league football!

Re: Andy Cook
Very hard to understand.
He could have gone down as a legend here. A real well remembered great for years to come.
Why risk not fitting in to a team or a system. Players are only ever 3 bad games in a row from being isolated until the end of the season. Its happened to him before.
I bet Jase Walker thought he had the world at his feet when he signed for Luton and it just didnt work out.
If its purely down to money then i can accept that. Thats his trade and how he will pay his bills and save for a future out of the game after retirement.
Just a shame to see when he knew where he was when he was a Barrow player.

Re: Andy Cook
Well I expected him going but realy didn't expect that bit of a kick in the balls but onwards and upwards just hope we can show him the errors of his ways when we meet up with tranmere next season.

Re: Andy Cook
When he misses a few chances : doesn't score in a couple of games and is booed by 5000 fans and sat on the bench he will wish he was back at Barrow where he was loved and understood. The money we offered him was probably decent
I'm disappointed it's a team in the same league as us
Big loss but I'm sure Cox will find someone else.

Re: Andy Cook
His agent told him Tranmere are a league team and Cookie believed him. Silly boy.
Don't think we'll be lacking in the goal scoring department next season anyway.

Re: Andy Cook
Excellent move for the young lad. He has given Barrow AFC many years of great service. Not many of you will know this, but Tranmere Rovers are a historic league team and have spent all but one year of their entire history in the football league.

Bye Andy thanks for the goals and memories.

it's interesting to note that Carlisle apparently couldn't competed with what wages we were meant to be offering Cook - Carlisle are meant to be favourites to sign Deverdics from Dover - I wonder if we could steal him from under their noses using some of the budget Cook's leaving will free up..... He's a Geordie so moving back up north is obviously not an issue.

You really are a cheerful chap ray ,maybe you don't know this but that 1 year out of the football league will soon become 2 years and if they don't get promotion this season then it will be 3 years .we'll be up before themRay Johnstone wrote:Excellent move for the young lad.
