As quoted in NLP on Sunday as coming from Cooks twitter account...

"I would like to clear a few things up after seeing some untrue comments in the past couple of days. At no point did I ever guarantee staying at Barrow if I didn't join a Football League club. The manager reported I had indicated a preference for staying at Barrow should a League club not materialise and this was indeed mentioned to my agent. It was based upon my knowledge of clubs interested I signing me - Tranmere was one of them at this point - and because I had enjoyed my time there. I made this choice because I see it as a great opportunity to play for a big club , one that has only been out of the League for one season. This has not been my best offer financially"

This is clearly a prepared statement referring to a previously prepared statement. The fact that it appears on twitter isn't really relevant. Anybody that thinks that these are actually his own words is deluded.

So was it someone else who tweeted ARH the other day from Cookies account saying " al be like a sun kissed God when I'm back" referring to his appearance when he returns from holiday.

Also the note on twitter says " Tranmere WASN'T one of them at this point"

For goodness sake people, lets just get over ourselves. Andy Cook played for our team for a while, did well, scored some goals, and now he's moved on like all players do eventually. The end. What he said in the media is irrelevant, and in any case....people are allowed to change their minds! Players are not duty bound to form an emotional bond with a club and its fans, neither are they sworn to some code of ethics. We are a relatively small club in the scheme of things. Andy Cook or anyone else doesn't have to justify to anyone why he wants to move to a bigger club. It doesn't interest me in the slightest what he said or didn't say - he's made his decision, and he's gone. I for one will treat him with respect when he returns to HS as a Tranmere player, because his performances on the field as a Barrow player warrant nothing less. He never gave less than 100% whenever I saw him play, and that's all you need to know.

well said ! End of the day if he made a u turn and came back too Holker street tomoro , the bluebird fans would love it ! Cook done a job for us , got us up , gave us 100% , moved on . Just the way the cookie crumbles! Didn't Roy Keane once say , end of the day us footballers are just expensive pieces of meat! We have Ross Hannah ,and once Cox brings in 2 more attacking threats I'm happy that we will be in for a good season!

Yes, people who attend games and don't rely on what they read on here to form an opinion on a player.

What are last season stats for this player, they must be impressive.

By the way it would be foolish to base anything from comments on a forum, I will stick to what the Manager says, Players Stats & live commentary & player write ups & my mates who share adult opinions on games as that's all I have to work with. :scarf:
