Better quality opposition though (assuming Airbus are better than Lancaster and Kendal, which they probably are)

Its about what's best for the team not what's best for you.

I don't care if I don't see a game as long as we have a proper pre season instead of running up and down mountains with logs.

You make it sound like you were there Al!

Well, it'll save money. I only like the Furness Select out of them. Stalybridge away might have been all right but it clashes with our Lakes Trip this year I think. Be good for the Manc based fans.

I only went to the HOB one last year, I might have cured myself of them.

I'm surprised we never play Preston in friendlies quite close to us but can't remember us ever playing them.

You'd get destroyed by the Coasters so you need to make sure you avoid them

I am fairly sure we will be avoiding them over the next few years in any league games anyway. #playofflosses

When are you going to realise...... You do not exist. No one anywhere in the world knows who you are. No interest, no history, no fans, no point.

is it only me that thinks 8 games in 4 weeks prior to the start of the season is a ridiculous amount? its not as though the squad is huge therefore there wont be a lot of player rotation.

5 weeks from the Furness Select game until our league campaign starts and I'm sure we played a lot more games last summer.

The Furness select game will probably be a good mix of trialists etc, the same with one or two other games so Paul Cox can look at filling in the final squad numbers before the games get a bit more serious as they move on towards August. I suppose we could have 6 or 7 players being looked at in the team for some of the games.

He's also said he'd like 20-22 players, so I suppose thats a decent enough sized squad to rotate them enough.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
