Really enjoyed the game chances both ways but I thought we were worthy of the three points overall. Liam Hughes, Jordan Williams Big Moussa and Byron Harrison worked tirelessly and Sean Beeley and Danny Livesey were the glue that held us together.

I thought there were more 1800 there today a decent 150 from Aldershot made for a decent atmosphere.

Some really good players in that team now, we were lucky to have won but both teams had plenty of chances to win.
Harvey was shite, made one or two tackles all game...
Hughes in for Harvey and howarth/meikle on the wing or parry in for ARH and Hughes on the wing.
Good start to the season and looking forward to the next game

Yes, But looked a lot more than that today, It's 700 odd down on first game last season. if confirmed, then that is a concern,especially as 200 odd Aldershot fans were there.

To be honest club couldn't have coped with more - very few turnstiles open / programmes ran out by 2.45

Very little in terms of promoting this game apart from through usual channels - we played well at times good win

Hughes isn't a winger, would be nice to get a Jack Mackreth type rapid winger on that side to give us an outlet. Quite often the ball went up to Harrison or Hannah and they tried their best to hold it up but the midfield was a long way behind
Diarra and Livesey showed signs of building a solid partnership, amazing goal line clearance from the skipper

Hughes is a cm but can do a job anywhere on the pitch, just like today

Hmm. A 2000+ gate looks like a very full main stand and relatively few gaps under the Ray Wilkie roof. Neither was the case today.

Some good individual performances today; none better than ARH.

Great result, performance about justified it. Thought they were quite bright at times and probably had the more clear cut chances.
Immense finish from Hughes, Livesey once again outstanding. Might not be the quickest but he reads the game so well...
Certainly room for improvement and thought we sacrificed width to combat their midfield dominance - ARH missing 1st half but better 2nd. Still feel we lack that X factor in midfield, but probably so does every club in this league.
Sure the more real games we play the better organised we will be - Cox knows how to get the best out of what he has, as he showed last year, big test Tuesday.

Wasn't able to get to the game today due to work, were we playing 4-5-1 without the ball and 4-3-3 with the ball? Anyway good result to start the season & can't wait for the trip to Tranmere on Tuesday in what will be a very testing game no doubt

Aye Jonty. I am as blind as a bat, deaf as a post and stiff as a board after yesterday's effort of washing all the seats in the stand but I was off my seat and looking to identify the imposter like a meerkat under threat!!!! I have her in my sights!!!!!!!

As for the game, we set off at a cracking pace and that Hughes thunderbolt was a net buster but then we gave Aldershot too much space to pass the ball around and our man marking has room for improvement. Having said that, it is the first game of the season and we were sharper in front of goal than Aldershot who thankfully blew what chances they had. How we didn't score at the xbar end with three players firing in shots from rebounds more or less on the goal line in rapid succession beta me. A decent all round performance and first game under the belt.
A well deserved 3 points on the board so well done lads.

Good to make a return to the terraces, and to catch up with some old faces for the first time in over a year.

Hughes excellent. Beeley knows what he's doing. Smart player. Still unconvinced by Anderton.

Nobody around me noticed, but did anyone else clock 2 balls on the pitch for about 20 seconds. 55ish minutes in.
