*Heard a bloke to my right say he was awful, heard a bloke to my left say he was brilliant. Baffling really.
All about opinions and how we all see things differently, I though Nick had a decent game although was surprised early second half when he took the Tranmere lads leg in a tackle on the by-line as it looked like a penalty to me.
I had some free tickets but was sitting in Tranmere KOP end behind the goal, and Dixons penalty was very soft. Norwoods ? experience out done him, Dixon made the ball first and stood up for Norwood to dive across him drawing the foul - that's what experience brings.
As for rest of the game very poor all round, but as others have stated lets not get to down hearted this is a long hard season and only game 2 of the campaign.
Lets hope Danny is ok for the trip to Torque as he is excellent at leading the back line.

Hopefully some people can revise their, frankly barmy, preseason expectations slightly having been schooled by one of the favourites for the league.

Not wanting to put a downer on people or be overly pessimistic, but tbh some of the opinions that we'll be up there challenging for the league are based on very little logic, and will just set you/us up for a fall, and invite undue criticism on the team and management. If we're top 10 and in or around the playoff conversation for most of the year, it'll be an excellent season for us and one to enjoy, I'm just worried people will fail to see it as such as and not enjoy it if we're not rolling people over and storming to the league.

Not been to either game yet so can't comment on the performances themselves (albeit as poor as they sound), but a win against Aldershot and a loss against Tranmere is about what I'd expect so no need to wet ourselves just yet.

Agree with this my expectations are safety, maybe in with a chance of the play offs - a cup run would be nice and some nice days out anything more than that is a bonus

Anderton was the only Barrow player that turned up, and was putting in great tackles left, right and centre! Had a very good game.
First half he was dreadful, caught out of position time and again. Everything came down his side and simple straight balls were doing him over and over, if Williams hadn't bailed him out then Tranmere would've been in behind numerous times. He did improve massively as the game wore on though and was pretty solid second half. Still, that first half showing was the worst game I've seen him have in a Barrow shirt.

Poor performance tonight, criticism on Anderton is wrong. We gave them far too much respect, are they wernt that good. The ref was a complete bastrd, total homer from start to finish.I could have played in goal for tranmere we were pathetic going forward.

We were simply dreadful last night. We never strung 3 passes together all night and were no threat going forward at all. Tactically we were a million miles away. Marking for Cooks goal was a shambles. Hughes does not look like a winger at all he's got CM written all over his huge frame and was totally awol last night. Beesley had a mare and was beaten continuously, ARH and Turnbull were totally outclassed in the middle of the park, I felt a bit sorry for the front 2 to be honest as they were given nothing to feed off the service was abysmal. Dixon seriously needs to work on his distribution its beyond poor EVERYTHING is aimed at Hughes it is so easy to play against!!! Williams dead ball deliverary was shambolic as well. Only positive was the support which sang from minute 1 to 90. Reality check now im afraid and expectations must be lowered from that drivel served up last night!!!

On the referee,i dont think ive seen a more biased, cheating performace. Brabin had obviously been in his ear pre match, even there fans are saying never a penalty, outside the box. The ref couldnt wait to give it,anyone got his name ?

Every year is the same though, especially since Casson came in. He too has too much expectancy also and just because Cox has done ok in the past, that was then not now.

What did diarra do wrong. I thought last night when I read this that it wasn't him marking cook and this video confirms that. I'm guessing radio said he was to blame

Im pretty confident Cook was meant to be Hughes man, he certainly marked him at a couple of other corners after the goal. Totally lost him here though, comical.

Hughes has to take the blame for cook's goal let's him go lacked the desire to get to the ball cox will not be happy conceding like that, wasn't there last night but how did turnbull play?,I thought him and Anderton were not that impressive on Saturday. I've said to a few people that we look solid but can't see where the goals will come from (I hope I'm wrong )anyway sure cox will sort it out!

Hughes looked like his was running through treacle. He looked shattered at the weekend, and again today. I would rather play Meikle or Haworth at the weekend.
