Obviously happy with the 3pts but by christ that was painful to watch. Really hope it is a case of Cox's teams starting slowly because if that is the football we have to put with, it's going to be a long old season, win or not.

The referee did his best to ruin the match. Fee kick after free kick. Lecturing players all game and handing out yellow cards for nothing. No wonder Barrow couldn't play any football. Poor performance anyway but right result

No we didn't, we just lumped it forward and managed to hang on to it for 8 minutes in their half. Worst 1st half performance this season and I'm struggling to remember an equally inept performance from previous seasons.

No attempt to bring the ball forward or use midfielders, just lump it, players didn't pass they just hit it aimlessly toward the other end of the pitch. Crosses don't seem to be aimed at anyone either. Conceded a really poor penalty and Bennett could easily have walked for a 2nd yellow. His 1st only happened after the Braintree keeper had a word in refs ear, players were all walking away, it was just a collision after a clearance. Goal came from Williams long throw that bounced down off the bar from a flick on and Bennett headed in the rebound. Poor lad was clearly hit in the face in the box but the officials saw nothing. Apart from the goal Mikele went close but keeper saved with his legs, he should have scored. 1-1 at half time but not deserved.

2nd half much better but we clearly have no midfield but we at least started to find the forward line. Bennett calmed down and started to put the Braintree defence under pressure, we got more confident as the game went on. Williams man of the match, what we would do with out him at the moment I don't know. Parry did well. Harrison reacted well for the 2nd goal, good finish under the keeper. Defence still very shaky but the players upped the temp and effort in the 2nd half which made the difference and won the game. 2-1 at full time and just about deserved their keeper earning his money for (only) his 2nd half performance.

Lump it forward to the 2 big lumps up front. No wonder Hannah was on the bench. Worked today though!
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

The first half was abysmal.

Defensively we were very shaky and Diarra was awful giving away a needless penalty.

Parry and Ray-Harvey had clearly been told not to attack as they just sat on the half way line. At one point they jogged in unison to the half way line and stopped as we were attacking.

We basically played kick and rush without the rush. We were bullied and out fought all over the park.

The second half began the same as the first but we gradually worked our way into the game with Williams head and shoulders above his colleagues.

The midfield became more advanced and we started causing them problems. Their keeper pulled off a number of good saves.

The referee was terrible all game although he did get the big calls correct.

We just about deserved to win but better teams will murder us. It wasn't an enjoyable game to watch.

I'm delighted at the way we got back into that game, but the first half we were poor and Cox knows we can't start games like that without being punished. They must have had a half time rocket because we were a different side second half. Braintree were there for the taking and if it hadn't been for their keeper pulling off 2 good second half saves it would have been wrapped up a lot more comfortably than it was. Definitely "game of two halfs" cliche fits well with today's game.

Small crowd but urging us forward to get that winner which I thought we just about deserved in the end but come on Barrow, we need a 90 minutes performance.

That referee though. every time he comes here!!

Awful 1st half, slightly better 2nd half, Jordon was rightfully named M.o.m other than that only positive 3 points in the bag, been long time I've seen such a poor ref
Just my opinion

Wow we scored.....2-1 up
To be fair the first two home games were quite entertaining so I don't know how you make that statement!
First half terrible ,dubious penalty ,second half only one team deserved to win braintree (along with possibly one of the most inept refereeing performances I have ever witnessed )with their constant complaining time wasting tactics made for a frustrating win but 3 points but if I was Paul Casson I would think twice about wasting his money on a town which obviously isn't bothered if we win or loose!

The 'GOOD, the BAD & the UGLY'.

GOOD:
* Warm, sunny, perfect for football, great pitch condition. * A WIN. *REF. (in parts) * Moussa Diarra dominance in air defence (1st half especially) * BT Goalie's brilliant 2nd half saves * Barrow pressure (2nd half) *Joel Dixon rolling ball out to his FB one-time (1st I've ever seen) * Nick Anderton solid and strong. * Jason Williams quick and lively. * Paul Turnbull on the bench. * 2 Goals. *Fewer air balls.

BAD:
* Small crowd. * No passing game. * No shape * No width * No one can hold the ball. * Unknown game plan * REF. (in parts) * ARH niggly fouls. * ARH complaining to REF. after niggly fouls. * Jason Williams too greedy, seldom looks to pass. * Not a shot on goal 1st half ( 1 yard header scored). * We have a bunch of individuals - but not a team yet.

UGLY: * REF (by popular demand). * Too many petty fouls. * Too much profane language from too many on popular side towards REF. ( Would never bring a lady...) * New boy Dominic Smith's stupid penalty-not impressed overall. * Paul Cox badgering 4th Official on side-lines (what's the point?) * BT Orange kit. (Extremely UGLY)

Referee was an absolute disgrace to his trade. I have only ever seen a Referee booed on this ground once before (on the scale that was shown to this utterly incompetent). And that was before the Edmo era.
He was so biased against us , a carpet bowl would not get a better curve. How do they seem to give us the worse of the worse so continually.
Grill second period tho. On another day we would have walked. Some impressive goalkeeping from the "the tango" players. If there was a gold medal for deliberate cheating then Braintree would already be another league. What a cheating, blow on me to fall over bunch of players. Hope they are relegated
