Re: Barrow v Braintree match thread
Glad of 3 points but that attendance is abysmal.Couldn't go today and it would seem that our style of football or lack of it is not attracting more supporters. We can only hope that we string a run of results together and more people will come through the turnstiles. We can start with 3 points on Monday.

GOOD:
* Warm, sunny, perfect for football, great pitch condition. * A WIN. *REF. (in parts) * Moussa Diarra dominance in air defence (1st half especially) * BT Goalie's brilliant 2nd half saves * Barrow pressure (2nd half) *Joel Dixon rolling ball out to his FB one-time (1st I've ever seen) * Nick Anderton solid and strong. * Jason Williams quick and lively. * Paul Turnbull on the bench. * 2 Goals. *Fewer air balls.
BAD:
* Small crowd. * No passing game. * No shape * No width * No one can hold the ball. * Unknown game plan * REF. (in parts) * ARH niggly fouls. * ARH complaining to REF. after niggly fouls. * Jason Williams too greedy, seldom looks to pass. * Not a shot on goal 1st half ( 1 yard header scored). * We have a bunch of individuals - but not a team yet.
UGLY: * REF (by popular demand). * Too many petty fouls. * Too much profane language from too many on popular side towards REF. ( Would never bring a lady...) * New boy Dominic Smith's stupid penalty-not impressed overall. * Paul Cox badgering 4th Official on side-lines (what's the point?) * BT Orange kit. (Extremely UGLY)
In what way did the ref have a "good game in parts"? u must have been watching a completely different game to the rest of us! To much profane language towards the ref?? What did u expect? Would u have preferred a round of applause?
Just my opinion
Re: Barrow v Braintree match thread
Good, bad or ugly a win is a win. 3 points onwards and upwards.
Re: Barrow v Braintree match thread
Good win however achieved. Next 6 fixtures look to have lots of points available.

To be fair the first two home games were quite entertaining so I don't know how you make that statement!blue nige wrote:thegaffer77 wrote:Bank holiday weekend plus drab football and a manager telling us we expect too much! Not really a surprise that the attendance has dropped!
Wow we scored.....2-1 up
However, we won and that's what it's all about. Keep winning and they will come.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

The referee actually got most decisions correct it was just the constant stop start that was annoying.

In what way did the ref have a "good game in parts"? So Ref was bad for 90 mins? 100% of the game?
u must have been watching a completely different game to the rest of us!
To much profane language towards the ref?? What did u expect? Actually I expect some civility and respect to any person or any official trying to do his job? Is that too much to expect from you? Would u have preferred a round of applause? Is sarcasm necessary my friend?
Strangely you have a quote at the bottom of your post, 'NO man shall be judged'. '

Correct, absolutely, I concur.Bluebird_john wrote:The referee actually got most decisions correct it was just the constant stop start that was annoying.
Walney Rock will soon be asking you, 'what game did you attend'? Same one as me I think.
Re: Barrow v Braintree match thread
The referee got very little correct, hence people were getting frustrated. Penalty given was soft, especially with what was happening to our own strikers any time a cross came into the box, Bennett was smashed in the back of the head and nothing given, their yellow card just before our winner was a good clean tackle and they were livid.Bluebird_john wrote:The referee actually got most decisions correct it was just the constant stop start that was annoying.
But yeah, obviously had a good game.

Re: Barrow v Braintree match thread
Rubbish attendance but people will come with consistent results home and away
Lots of regulars missing today so I'm not too concerned about the attendance - loads of things happening last weekend before kids back at school /nice weather / races / rugby final etc again we need as a club to think outside the box to get more along to the games -
In terms of game first half dreadful second half we got better and better and in the end created loads of chances - I think we will get better and better

Couldn't go as drunk in Germany.
2 late goals have made it a great weekend.
Shit attendance.

Re: Barrow v Braintree match thread
Very poor 1st half (missed our goal going to the soccer bar)Braintree ghost goal was definitely in where I was stood, right in the linesman view)but 2nd half we were much the better team.could and would of been 3 or 4 if it wasn't for their goal keeper. But a wins a win, bluebirds

2 folk on here have said different players gave away the pen. I recollect it was Harrison that gave it away. Need the video evidence.
