Well, have had a lovely day in Liverpool at The Jam exhibition.

Weve been rubbish some of the time ans quite resilient others. We are 10th..3 points off 3rd. Weve got Tranmerr and two of the worst southern trips out of the way.

Looking forward to Monday.

Imagine if we were actuallly playing well?

To be fair the first two home games were quite entertaining so I don't know how you make that statement!

 I guess you are easily pleased or blind. The attendance and opinions of others on here suggests otherwise.

However, we won and that's what it's all about. Keep winning and they will come.
Neither but at least I go to the home games do you?

'Diarra was awful giving away a needless penalty' SpongeBob..

Harrison another said and Match Report said Smith.....

So 1 of 3 and counting.

Actually Harrison and Smith are same build/height and same complexion.

Wasn't Diarra as he's 6' 5".

Harrison gave away the pen, albeit very soft.

I was pleased that he got the winner as he'd been manhandled all day and was given absolutely nothing by the referee.
Popular side since '03.

An ugly win.
Plenty of points for persistence, but few for football.
Almost worth the admission to see Dixon throw the ball TWICE.
In my opinion Parry the best player on the pitch by far. He is a very astute footballer who knows what's required in every situation. If he was slightly more skillful he'd be playing a much higher standard.
His heading of the football is better than anyone else at the club.
In my opinion the team needs to be set around him playing an important role.

That was a truly dreadful excuse for a football match today. The second half was an improvement on the first, but that was largely because Jordan Williams took it upon himself to get the ball down and do something other than punt the damn thing in the general direction of the opposition end and hope we pick up the odd second ball (which we hardly ever did incidentally...). Nobody expects exhibition football from a team coached by a guy who admits himself that his teams aren't attractive to watch, but I do expect organisation and commitment, and I've seen precious little of either so far. Resilience?....well we won, coming from behind I suppose, but it looked very unconvincing to me.
Yes, the team is a "work in progress" but there is a LOT of work to do. I don't like to criticise individual players but Moussa Diarra...? I know Simon Grand had his critics on this forum. I liked Grandy myself, but accepted when he was released that we were moving forward, and he would be replaced by someone better, an intelligent, ball-playing centreback with bags of experience in the NL. Diarra for me is a very poor replacement, and belongs in the Evo-Stik league. How can a lad that tall be no good in the air? The way the ball ricochets off various parts of his body in random directions puts pressure on the whole team. He has no positional sense, genuinely cannot pass a football, and incredibly for a player nine feet tall has zero physical presence. He jumps for headers that Livesey has covered, and gets in the way. Once this afternoon, he jumped for a header and somehow managed to completely miss the ball. On the odd occasion when he does make a timely, squarely-met header, the ball goes straight up in the air. I'm really struggling to understand Coxy's logic in bringing him in in the first place, but also in persevering with him. It's just one of many puzzles at the moment.
If that performance this afternoon is going to be a typical one, we're in for a long, tedious season, with a lot more sub-thousand gates, I'm afraid.

2 Good
• 100% home record
• Squad is work in progress

2 Bad
• Players rather mute and don’t appeal for much
• Need to attack HSE second half
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Up there with the worst first halves of football i've seen from us, truly awful stuff, most of it seemingly based around tactic as much as ability, with our strikers constantly isolated due to the midfielders seemingly holding the half way line even when we're in attack.

Up there with the worst refereeing display in recent memory. Stop start throughout, the ref seeming to want the attention all to himself far too often, but missing blatantly obvious things such as the forearm smash first half in the penalty area and various manhandling of Bennett/Harrison.

Second half of the second half we were much better and actually looked like a team, once we attacked as a unit more. Jordan Williams is absolutely phenomenal, and everything good we do goes through him. We'll get a lot of money for him next year. Would have been a travesty if we hadn't won given the second half, but then again don't think we deserved to go in drawing at half time.

Braintree were very poor compared to last season which made our job easier. Don't think I'd go as far as to say it was one of the worst first halfs ever as there's been some pretty terrible games down there over the years. It just didn't really get going. Again with the ref, yes some poor decisions but he did sort of redeem himself as the game went on and start to get things right. I think he stood out a bit as in general the quality of refereeing has improved from a few seasons back.

As the second half went on we never looked like losing the game and even when the 4 minute board went up I didn't feel particularly nervous. Maybe more to do with Braintree looking a poor side this time around who offered very little going forward. Agree with the motm, Williams always looked dangerous. Defense, given a couple of errors, looked a lot more solid and it would have been a clean sheet save for the penalty that was 50/50 at best.

100% record at home is great but under 1000 so early in the season is worrying. Was expectation that high in the town that people aint bothering cause we aren't top and playing like Brazil? Or is just the myriad of factors mentioned in the thread. With three Saturday home games on the bounce, maybe it's just people picking their fixtures.

You really do have to factor in the price of watching a game yes we are probably slightly cheaper than most but £17 to sit down its not cheap. BAE alot are on shifts now not a Monday to Friday job anymore, Bank holiday weekend alot do go away and recent away results have been poor.

We advertise games social media much better but still work could be done on promoting games.

Cox's reaction last week and the negativity that creates will put people off.

Anyway not bothered about performances me we are a non league team not Brazil how many teams play the football you all expect? Just keep winning at home and gates will increase.

It was not a football match. It was a whistle blowing concert with football intervals. Doubtless the players of both sides where as frustrated as the spectators.
