Re: Lancashire cup
Absolutely. But the thing is a few teams in our area, including Chorley, take this very seriously. A trip out for the final at Bolton, although I think it was somewhere less glamourous last season. Its a good opportunity for teams to get involved i guess.
Its a great chance to visit some grounds that we as supporters (sorry Jo am back if i cant) used to visit. Lancaster, Bamber Bridge, Chorley and even unknown to us some teams like HOB that may get through.
Could even go to Ramsbottom and see how Seddon is doing

Any trophy is a winner for me, success is something to dream of but even just a little bit helps that dream.

Just saw the link, seems the teams i mentioned above are not there.
My post is either completely pointless or they join in later at some point?

Re: Lancashire cup
The cup you are thinking of is the Lancs Junior Cup, this is the Senior version.

Maybe if you attended more games you would be up to speed. Only jokingruins wrote:Just saw the link, seems the teams i mentioned above are not there.

Thank you my friend, i knew i had something wrong when i actually took the time to look at the link rather than base everything on assumptions!!! Is it like the old Bob Lord Trophy?Lancaster Branch wrote:The cup you are thinking of is the Lancs Junior Cup, this is the Senior version.

Quite ironic too, its the senior cup and mostly youth teams in it.Lancaster Branch wrote:The cup you are thinking of is the Lancs Junior Cup, this is the Senior version.

Re: Lancashire cup
Must have missed the first round.
Big time Barrow and a load of Lancashire minnows in the second round.

Re: Lancashire cup
No - the Bob Lord Trophy was just for Conference clubs. We got to the final once...got stuffed by Sutton down at their place, must have been 91ish.ruins wrote:Thank you my friend, i knew i had something wrong when i actually took the time to look at the link rather than base everything on assumptions!!! IIRC we've also competed in the J C Thompson Shield (between the Trophy winners and the Conference champions); the Premier Inter League Cup (shortlived comp between Conference teams and each of the three feeder leagues) plus all of that Chairmans/Presidents/Tea Lady cup that went on during the Unibond days. And how could we forget the Lakeland Soft Drinks Cup between us, Lancaster, Kendal and Morecambe (I think)....or the Chas Kendall Trophy with Wukkinton-eh?
Any other tinpot cups folk can remember? Cambrian Cup?

Re: Lancashire cup
We lost to Goole in something. The final was at Maine road. Must have been the Unibond league cup or something as they're not in Lancashire.
I set off for it but the old banger we went in blew a gasket on the motorway and we didn't get there in the end.
