See, this is what I can't understand - we used to get bigger crowds when we were scratting about at the bottom never mind when we're 'in the mix'.

Maybe it's been the lack of away fans our style of play and people picking and choosing with three Saturdays in a row - I wonder if it was the same 1000 oner the three weeks or 1300-1500 different people

The first few weeks of the season our fitness and concentration in the last 15 minutes was being lauded. Last two weeks lack of concentration in the last ten minutes has cost us 4 points

If you look at folk who I used to stand with it has halved. Also, some pick and choose that used to go every week. Some have just got young families, some fell out of love with it as the never ending struggle took it's toll, some are sick of how the soccer is being policed and won't go. Others have some weird anti club internet presence instead and the atmosphere is dire.

Then there's the price hike in the stand, for some the facilities (although the X Bar was miles better yesterday, fair play). Saturday football. The new yard shift patterns where souls were sold for Trident gold.

In the time I've watched Barrow (since 99) we've not often played 'good football' IMHO but there is no doubt that the style of play is giving folk an excuse not to go.

All this against a backdrop of an indifferent, clueless Sky addicted town full of Premiership fans, folk with Liverpool tattoos who have never been to Anfield etc etc etc.

Argh!

Anyone mentioned the ref yet?

Another awful official yesterday.

Curious statement that. If you look at any National League Forum after a loss, the Ref is invariably part of the blame. Win, and he/she is invariably not mentioned. ;)

Sorry pal  it was over the top. I still love em, warts and all.

To be fair, we are potentially so close to it going right on and off the park there just seems to be a terrible sense of opportunities being missed.

You know, it' not like getting pumped 6-0 t home by Gainsborough, we are solvent, we are 10th, we have some great players like Danny Livesey...maybe we are just all terminally pessimistic

W W D D.....your point doesn't really stand up does it?

We've had three home games on the spin of terrible officials, yesterday he/they were pretty bad, to both teams - the previous two/six were just one sided.....they definitely were not homers.

Missing some of the stuff these lot have is incompetent......at best.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Well, having time to reflect on yesterday....that was shocking....
If we continue to serve up that sort of performance we won't win any floating fans....in fact we need to budget on crowds 900-1050
We put big lads in the team and spend 90 mins lumping it to them....
We have a bench full of footballers....
We miss Grandy at the back as big Moussa is no footballer...
What do Hannah and Howarth have to do to get a game?
We don't look like scoring but neither do them opposition until we give them a goal...near the end...
The 2 big men (Bennet & Hughes) run on empty after an hour....

We need Murray in for Diarra
Hannah in for Bennett
Hawarth & Turnbull & Parry in for ARH, Yates and Hughes..

was gonna put up a submit re the ref...well here we go 5 games at home and 3 of the referees were worse than last year 2 of which we have had in the last 3 games [and from last season]. This "incompetent" from Saturday was so incompetent he does not even get a 2 for turning up. He was unfit [fitness wise] to be officiating and all but one of our corners resulted in free kicks from the first knock....those from our visitors!!! yep you get it NOT ONE and our visitors defence was so corrupt they could all have been politicians. Only one real purposeful visiting player was the 9 who caused havoc but could not rely on his m8s to be honest enough to stay on their feet. Sorry Boreham Wood you are a disgrace to fair football. Hope your manager gets you all to grow up. Nuff said
