FREE TICKETS UPDATE AND FREE FOOTBALL-DAY OF YORK GAME

Firstly, thanks to all those that have given in their pledges of money to The Trust. We have a pot of over 1000 with more coming in. The club are very kindly, through Emma, allowing me to administer the tickets by submitting the requests during the week before, then invoicing the Trust, this is much easier to track financially, administer and measure.

What it means for this Saturday is that a number of families who otherwise wouldn't have managed to go to matches are attending. This is a result in no small measure to the generosity of people involved with this forum and beyond in the Barrow AFC community. Many thanks for that and please get in touch on behalf of any groups or individuals if you want some tickets.

Another initiative where the club are working with the Trust and Pulse 5 a side is free football. This takes place this Saturday, kick off 10.30 am at Pulse 5 a side. All ages and abilities are welcome. If we manage it, we will split into two or three pitches in terms of age and general fitness but both sessions so far have been a non competitive walk/jog/run around and a decent laugh (YOU WILL NOT BE TOO OLD OR UNFIT- I AM DOING IT!) the appearance of a former forum legend from the republic of Dalton may also be a carrot.

Twenty three children and fourteen adults are going on Saturday who otherwise wouldn't have.

Next few weeks trying to focus on community groups to even things out.

Great community support from within the club today. Mark round doing an assembly to support kids football. I met with Margaret about a number of projects that's she's working on so the club gives more help in the community in general. Then as we couldn't round for the tickets, the club are delivering them to a central point for us and no problem with invoicing instead of paying. Credit to all down there frankly, good job being done.
