Re: Taunton v Barrow FA Cup game (now Sunday 6th Nov)
Not ideal with the tickets only available from Monday. I was hoping to pick a ticket up on saturday. I am having to ask someone if they will pick my ticket up when available as I live 46 miles from the ground.
At this stage a print your own ticket would have been the way forward and that's if I am one of the 300.

I would ring up, just did and got through right away. They are aware of the Exiles issue and will look to send them out first class on bring them down if necessary. There is some facility to pay over the phone apparently.
We won't have 300 so it will be all right. Folk will be put off by the Sunday and one or two by the faff of this carry on

I have sent an email questioning how to get tickets when living outside the area - will let you know of the response

Just phoned the club (01229 666010). Non season ticket holders are being put on a waiting list and will be told on Monday whether successful or not. Payment will be taken then, and tickets cam be sent out by post.
Re: Taunton v Barrow FA Cup game (now Sunday 6th Nov)
was just going to ring but checked email and the response was;-
Hello Angela,
All I need to know is who the tickets are for and what name they are under. Tickets can be delivered first class however, the payment will be made to yourselves. Season Ticket holders are given priority and you will be put down on the general sales list.
Thanks Ronan (Barrow AFC)

We are far from this ideal world.Middleton Nick wrote: At this stage a print your own ticket would have been the way forward and that's if I am one of the 300.
I rang as soon as it was announced on the AFC website and was advised that I was the first person to call on the subject. My name was taken plus telephone number and I advised that I am not domiciled in the Furness area. Young fella that took my details (plus daughter) was polite and had a good 'phone manner. He further advised that the tickets are not yet available and getting the two ordered was not guaranteed which is fair enough as we are not season ticket holders. Pointed out that I am up in Barrow for the game v Eastleigh and could pick up if necessary. Looking forward to receiving the magic call.

That's not as straight forward as it sounds...Cubbins Paratrooper wrote:We are far from this ideal world.Middleton Nick wrote: At this stage a print your own ticket would have been the way forward and that's if I am one of the 300.![]()

I tried to print mine out for the FGR away game. Panicked when I realised my Printer had ran out of ink! It was 7am in the morning - I was boarding the coach at 8.00! I had to quickly scribble my ticket details down before setting off for the bus.
Turned out well, eventually, as there wasn't much of a queue at the ticket office down there and the sales girl was very polite and efficient when providing my ticket over the counter. However, I wouldn't like the same thing to happen to anyone else - especially for this game! Can you imagine being sat on a coach for 6/7 hours constantly worrying if you would get in!

That's magnanimous of you to say.Nigel Bamford wrote: I think it was me that said you had 5/6 turnstiles. I was at your game against Hemel (thoroughly enjoyable, by the way) and, I confess, I didn't count them so, if anything, I'm guilty of bigging you up! If it really is 2 turnstiles, though, that could cause difficulties. There isn't any other access to the ground, is there?
What you say about the queues is right - I rolled up at 2:15 and got in straight away, no problem at all. We all know what local press are like for taking one aspect of an event and making it sound like that's all that happened. Heaven knows, we've had plenty experience of that with our local rag.
As far as I know, all of the access to the ground is down that one side. There is room to create other entrances though if the club has the time/resources/idea. There is the large gate into the car park behind the 'home terrace' where you could seat 2 people to check tickets. There is also a disused turnstile and gate sitting next to that. Then there are the possible 2 turnstiles at the far end of the pitch and an exit gate next to them which could also seat 2 people.
That's 9 possible ticket points that could be opened up and there may be others as I have never really looked at it. If there were nine ticket points and 2300 attending, and each person takes 8 seconds to present their ticket, we would clear the crowd in 34 minutes. The clubhouse (inside the ground) gets busy from about 2 hours before kick off, so that will be perfect.
Not saying that this is what the club has planned as, again, I have no 'insider' knowledge.

I phoned the club and Ronan was very polite and put me on the list - If i don't get a ticket I'm still going to go on the coach and have a day out in Taunton.

Re: Taunton v Barrow FA Cup game (now Sunday 6th Nov)
I've just spoken with Austin and so far ST holders will be able to put their name to one ticket, it can't be more at the moment as IF all ST holders applied we'd run out of places. ST holders can then put their names on a reserve list for another.
The club are trying to get names of ST holders who are travelling on the coach to see how many are actually booked on them.
For those living down South (or even up here) you "could" try ringing & getting them off Taunton as there is no segregation......that's not anything official - just a suggestion!

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

But unless you're a season ticket holder you won't know if you've got one until Monday.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote:Pointed out that I am up in Barrow for the game v Eastleigh and could pick up if necessary. Looking forward to receiving the magic call.
Guess it depends on how many season ticket holders there are and how many of them are travelling (or, dare I say it, staying at home but letting a mate use "their" ticket).
