Do you watch Football Focus OR actually listen to/read the comments of the Football Pundits (most of whom are ex players/managers) on the TV or in the press? They're constantly bemoaning the lack of quality in our so called 'Top' keepers and often refer to the icons of the 70s...

Peter Shilton by miles Dixie..! At fault in the semi at Italia 90 for the German goal and never looked like saving a pen. In fact he was a notorious gambler and it looked like he'd put a few quid on the Germans to me. I've always thought that. Besides that Banks was better...by miles.

Goalkeepers do make mistakes from time to time and it's usually remembered more because more often than not it results in a goal.
Dixon is a good shot stopper, usually very good at holding onto low shots when other keepers may spill.
However I can think off the top of my head of 5 goals he has been responsible for conceding this season and there have been a few other moments which he's got away with. Yes he's young and still learning but the problem for me is I think he's gone backwards from last season, when at his age he should be improving and kicking on.

Time is on his side but I just wonder how many more errors he can get away, he needs to start learning and sharpish.

Eastleigh away last season. Unfortunately they put in the rebound.

He effectively score one penalty for the opposition - away at Welling last season the penalty struck the post and then went in off Dixon. No blame can be apportioned, it was just bad luck.

Can't think of an occasion he's kept one out that has stayed out.

The majority of these were signed when we were not as financially secure.

It sounded like he did reasonably well today .
Alot of his fans say he is one of the best ,well let's see which clubs come in for him
It's about opinions and PC must rate him as he has persevered with him,if he is all for giving talent a chance Elliott Newly should have been given a few games.
