I'd love another run in the FAT. It's annoying seeing bigger league clubs demeaning the FAC by fielding weakened teams and it's something that has slowly crept in with some of the "bigger" teams in this league lately. I hope we don't follow suit.

I wonder if you'll say that if we have a fixture pile up around March/April and we're fighting for the play-offs. OR if we have an injury crisis OR even fatigue among our players due to playing too many fixtures.

The FA Trophy revives good memories for me, no more than that.
It's a Trophy coveted by Non-League clubs who have nothing else to play for - as we did, once.

WE should NOW have higher aspirations - ie the Football League!

As I've said before...I think there are many who DON'T want us to succeed in this league- they're quite happy to see us languishing in Non-League obscurity. I think Bingo, in one of his posts, alludes to the small town mentality of a lot of people who support Barrow.

I think the FA Trophy will always be a bit special for the people who endured the early non league struggle to suddenly find themselves within one game of Wembley in 1988.

It was not to be then of course and with heavy hearts, back into the doldrums we sank, or so it would seem. But strengthened by our bitter defeat at the hands of Enfield, we cruised to the final two years later and showed the world that Barrow AFC did still exist and were capable of winning a trophy at the world’s most famous football venue. That's why it's special for us I think.

Strangely just saw Enfield 1893 playing at Stansted in Essex Senior League on Tuesday evening. Although effectively new club it brought back good and bad memories for me
