Ryan Yates - Worth a cheeky enquiry ?

Post by SKIPPER » Sun Dec 11, 2016 2:11 pm

I note that Tranmere have signed, for an undisclosed fee, Ben Tollit the young lad they've had on loan from Portsmouth almost since the start of the season. I'm guessing, may be wrong, that Ryan Yates has exceeded the number of loan extensions for the season and would have to return to Forest in a few weeks. Might it be worth trying to sign him permanently given that he is currently a long way from first team action at Forest. Just a thought.

would Ryan want to come to Barrow permanently? daft if he does imo already at a big club and doing so well on loan would expect in not the to distant future will get his chance in the first team.

No harm in asking but don't think there's a cat in hell's chance of being able to afford him or his wages. I'm guessing here but in loans involving big clubs, they contribute to the cost as it's a good investment for them. It would be interesting to know the terms of the loan deal though.

I don't think Anderton was as outstanding or noticeable as what Yates has been this season as he's been one of our best players so far this season and at a higher level than Anderton who also suffered a bad injury. I'm sure Forest will be aware of Yates progress and it would be interesting to see what happens when his loan period ends - unsure when that is? With the way he's been playing and the number of scouts watching our games the fact he's been doing well won't only have been noticed by ourselves and Forest.

I'm sure that if there is a possibility of signing Ryan Yates, Paul Cox will have considered it and discussed it with the parties concerned.

If it's not Yates it'll be someone else. Very confident in our ability to get quality players in.

Would be great to see him here longer though.

You have been away a long time, a former member of this forum. It's definitely Anderton, not Wilmer-Anderton - that was down to an error by PNE in his registration, I think.
It all comes 'round again.

Anderton came as a free agent, Yates has a contract with Forest, totally different scenario, let's just enjoy him while he's here because he really has a great future ahead of him

I think we're all well aware that Yates is better than this level, and should really be at a higher level. He's also Forest's academy player of the year, so unlikely they're just gonna part with him for free.
Is it actually definite that his loan can't be renewed?

No chance at all of signing him permanently whatsoever.
Get used to the idea that he will be leaving us soon.

I don't know the situation with the loan and whether it can be extended or not - but if it can't it can be got round anyway - just chat with Forrest and agree with them that we can sign him for a fee but put in the contract that they have the option to sign him back for the same fee at the end of the season (put an actual date on it though) - that way if Forrest want him they get him back, but if not or they don't act quickly enough he's ours...
