Williams has already served a suspension for 5 yellows, so he should miss both Gateshead home and away.

He will only miss one game.
His first suspension was for 5 yellow cards.
You only get extra match suspensions for red card offences.

Not Barrow at their best, it has to be said, but an away point and the unbeaten run continues. Two things spoiled the match; the fog which made seeing what was happening at the far end of the pitch difficult, and a referee who'd received a new whistle as an early Christmas present and wanted to keep blowing it.

I can't comment on the Boreham Wood goal, simply because I couldn't see what was happening through the fog, but our penalty was, I thought, the right decision. And Byron Harrison doesn't miss them!

Positives from the day? A decent cup of Bovril at the match. Negatives? Unless we get promoted we'll have to go back to Borehamwood town centre - devoid of decent boozers - again next season.

That was horrible. We weren't great but to be honest the conditions and atmosphere were so poor, this was just the sort of game where our run would end. And to be honest most of thought it might have at 1-0 because the game was so tight that a single goal might well have stolen it. Not that you could see much of their goal when it came. For the third game in a row we got off our backsides and roused ourselves into a series of attacks. In the first their keeper had to made a good one handed save. In the second, Bennett looked to have been impeded running into the box but the referee wasn't interested. Finally in the third Bennett received the ball with his back to the goal and just seemed to fall backwards over the defenders leg. Less of a penalty than the previous effort but the ref gave it to the wrath of the Wood defence.

Lets be fair to BWood. Despite the ludicrous conditions they aren't a bad team at all. Their back four handled us pretty well and they countered quickly and were prepared to shoot from range. This turned out ultimately to be a good tactic as their goal (I think) was a raking shot from outside the box. Otherwise this was just a game to get rid of.

So devoid of entertainment was the game that we made up our own, picking on the hapless Bruno Andrade after he contrived to get Williams yellow carded in the first half (The second booking was for handball (I think)) Mr Andrades Portuguese heritage became the butt of the BAFC supporters with people desperately looking up any derogatory terms they could find in Portuguese. So he will for ever now the known as Bruno "Puta - The Whore" Andrade.

Was totally unaware until highlights that BWood manager had been sent off with Jordan Williams. TV cameras made conditions look a lot better than they were to the naked eye.

To set the scene I have not been to a barrow game for about 18 months due to my location and work and it was some degree of anticipation that I set off to borehamwood on Saturday.
First comment - if that was a game representative of a team that has designs on winning the league then the standard of the conference must be pretty dire. The game was very very poor not helped by the soulless half empty ground.
My general observations - was expecting loads from Jordan Williams based on all I have read - to me he didn't look all that interested. He can feel hard done by for his first booking - it wasn't even a foul let alone a caution. The conditions were pretty awful and we at the barrow end could hardly make out the goal at the far end of the field!
First half was pretty forgetful. Diarra looked good with his head but like bambi on ice with his feet. Beeley looked good at right back and Harrison is clearly a class act. There seemed to be a lot of balls in the air which seems a shame as when barrow got the ball down they do look half decent. Anyway 45 minutes past without anything of note.
Second half and at least we could see the goal we were attacking! Once again however there wasn't a lot to shout about but here comes the controversial comment. Ritchie Bennett is a diver. For the first penalty shout he went down like a sack of the proverbial under little or no pressure rather than take a shot with his left foot. Why he didn't stay on his feet and just lash a shot goal bound was beyond me - ok it might be his weaker foot but he was only about 10yards out - for me he was lucky to escape a booking. Borehamwood scored after being given too much space in midfield to run at the defence, after the goal barrow did seem to raise things a bit to be fair they bloody needed to! Cox brought Miekle on who for me was excellent when he came on, he put himself about and chased everything down. Now - the penalty, never in a million years. Bennett again, ball coming in from the right and he just backed into the defender and fell over I can understand why they went scatty! Harrison stepped up and the outcome was never in doubt. As for the Williams handball and sending off - we simply couldn't see from our end.
Overall summary, poor game, two poor teams (on the day) and a poor referee - equally so for both sides although the decision barrow got for the penalty ultimately had the biggest effect, williams a bit disinterested, Akil Wright - no confidence, Miekle - keen as mustard and impressed and Harrison is a class act.
As has been mentioned earlier the individual arguing with the steward behind the goal was embarrassing, you are a grown man buddy you need to act like it! Other than that a good Barrow following and I hope the performance on Saturday was just a blip because if it wasn't and that is what is seen every week then the Barrow public won't be flocking back to watch, still we march on!
