Re: Crossbar Saturday
Seriously, this is getting totally out of hand. a former member of this forum, is there really any need for this? If Id have asked the NWEM for people to throw their names into a draw people would moan that not everyone buys the mail, if it'd have gone to forum members someone would moan not everyone uses the forum.....where would it stop?
[SwearFilter] hell, if anyone is really that bothered, have my place at the top of the stairs from 10:30 ticking off names of people you don't even know.
Glasgow Blue (Mike) no, no STH's knew they were in the draw as they were picked randomly.....surely I wasn't expected to contact every STH just to tell them they "might" get drawn.
The Landlord, no, Phil Collier was not drawn out of any list but as Boylie says...he might be there as a sponsor.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Crossbar Saturday
Yeah, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. There's only a corridor separating the room where Barrow fans drink (snooker room section) and the concert room + there 's no smoking section for the Rochdale fans using the concert room so they'll have to smoke outside the main doors of the club - the same doors through which Barrow fans enter....barrowaberdeen wrote:The real issue is there's nowhere pre match for us or Dale to drink like we had in Taunton as Capman says. How we appear to have handled that seems very poor. We could have put other options in and really pushed it. I'll be interested to see how the corporate works out too.
The Soccer Bar will make a killing as they are opening their ballroom and the bloke who runs it has been on Rochdale's forum actively encouraging them in, raking money in off the back of the game. Fair play to them.,we only have ourselves to blame there.
The rest of it I can't be bothered getting into. Absolute poisoned chalice for everyone who had to draw, pick or whatever they did..and if you read the post properly it was a combination. Not everyone asked wanted to go, as they've got their own pre match routine.
If you're that bothered about getting a bacon bun with Paul Ince and Kevin Kilbane Az you can go in my place with pleasure.
Personally, I'm quite upset about the Cross Bar's opening times on that day. I only use it occasionally - most of the time we drink in The Soccer Bar but I was looking forward to being on 'Football Focus'...
I can understand the need for a selection process, though.
Not sure if we'll be drinking in The Soccer Bar before the Rochdale game. For reasons stated above.
It's looking like the town centre before the game...not going anywhere near THE BARROW ARMS, though!

I'm not complaining Ian, (that stuff doesn't interest me whatsoever ) just relating what a ST holder is sat telling me. At the end of the day, it shouldn't be your responsibility anyway, i know we are still on the longest learning curve in history but should this not be down to the commercial dept to do properly? Everything just seems like it's hard work

Haven't really watched Football Focus since it was part of Grandstand. Paul Ince was great player on ISS Pro on the N64 (although his name was spelled 'Inse' as Konami didn't have licence to use real player names).
I wanna take you to an Away Bar

Re: Crossbar Saturday
Just weird how a draw was mentioned after it had suposedly taken place.
By all means give the places to those who deserve it. Just dont tell us that hundreds of names have been put into a hat and drawn for the rest

Re: Crossbar Saturday
Unbelievable response.
You can't have football focus live with about 500 people all trying to get in the bar......
All looks fair to me, well done Ian for giving up your time to sort
Reckon this will be 10 pages by 10pm tonight....

Re: Crossbar Saturday
This was all kept quite till I started the thread ,I heard about it last week but find it sad that young kids are being kept away. The club should have expressed what they were doing last week instead of a need to know basis.

You say that but then seem to have a problem with people who go home and away every week being askedThe Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:By all means give the places to those who deserve it.
Re: Crossbar Saturday
Fantastic gesture by our owner in inviting as many as feasible to share a monumental occasion.
Hopefully we can make history on the pitch and enjoy getting Brahms and Liszt afterwards or whatever your vise is!
Not on the list, but hope those that are enjoy every minute

Oh no! It was always going to be the Stu Nichols fan club that got priority.Freya wrote:You say that but then seem to have a problem with people who go home and away every week being askedThe Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:By all means give the places to those who deserve it.

Re: Crossbar Saturday
Yep because that'd work wouldn't it........just turn up with your kids for a photo with the FAC......300 kids turn up and then people moan that they can't get into the X Bar. BTW, I do think kids should be able to see the FAC close up and I will ask if they can get a photo opportunity.cromwells ghost wrote:This was all kept quite till I started the thread ,I heard about it last week but find it sad that young kids are being kept away. Also, the BBC requested this so how does anyone know if this sort of thing isn't wrote into the FAC sponsorship deal?

Re: Crossbar Saturday
There was a very short window in which to turn this around. It was thought that the quickest way to reach as many of our members as possible in the time available was to use Facebook. So, yes, it was communicated, though we knew at the outset that not everyone would see it. Apologies to those who didn't get the message, or saw it when it was too late, but time was of the essence.Steelworks End wrote:How many members were aware of this draw, though? It certainly wasn't communicated very well, if at all.spirit of 1990 wrote: the NSC were asked who would be interested and then their % was drawn at random.
