Barrowfan Chris, thank you for admitting it was by invite in your post, instead of the bullshit about draws and name generators (wtf?) No problem with that whatsoever. Honesty at the start of this thread would have saved 8 pages

Re: Crossbar Saturday
Assuming this 'Stu Nichols fan club' is us lot who go home and away, we were one of the groups of people that were invited and admittedly I don't think it was a draw.N18THG wrote:There was a draw but how many of the 'Stu Nicholls fan club' were chosen seems abit of a fix, im not arsed il be happy enough in front of the tv at home till its time to walk down!!!
Season ticket holders however were a draw, so were trust members, so were crossbar regulars (I think) etc etc.
There's absolutely no fix and you do seem quite arsed.

As was stated, unambiguously, in Ian's initial post...Freya wrote:Assuming this 'Stu Nichols fan club' is us lot who go home and away, we were one of the groups of people that were invited and admittedly I don't think it was a draw.N18THG wrote:There was a draw but how many of the 'Stu Nicholls fan club' were chosen seems abit of a fix, im not arsed il be happy enough in front of the tv at home till its time to walk down!!!

Well, Clive, it's all about the two M's - movement and positioning.

Some groups were drawn, other groups did not use this method.

Re: Crossbar Saturday
Very pleased that the supporters who have followed us home and away through thick and thin for many seasons get their chance to be there on FF (it wouldn't be difficult to pick out the main core and guessing most of us at away games could name them all). I hope you all enjoy it guys (and gals in Freya's case). Sadly I can't be there Saturday due to a prior engagement so please give an extra cheer for me and get us through to a big 4th round tie.Freya wrote:Assuming this 'Stu Nichols fan club' is us lot who go home and away, we were one of the groups of people that were invited and admittedly I don't think it was a draw.N18THG wrote:There was a draw but how many of the 'Stu Nicholls fan club' were chosen seems abit of a fix, im not arsed il be happy enough in front of the tv at home till its time to walk down!!!

True that.Bingo wrote:Why would anybody want to go to the crossbar 3 hours before a game anyway to be told when to talk when to cheer, where to stand and when to wave a scarf by some patronising arsehole from the BBC
Totally fair that regular followers are given this opportunity, and there were probably 'draws' made for certain groups, would be cool to just be up front that there were also people invited.
Lots of fuss over nothing though, more interested in whether the club shop will be stocked.

Re: Crossbar Saturday
I wasn't saying that at all TTK, They will be loyal fans but I was referring to the people who were selected as Xbar regulars so drinking in the Soccer Bar obviously would exclude them from that list. Their freedom of choice and freedom of choice to select those who drink in the Xbar, especially when we were desperate for the income across the bar.The Tomahawk Kid wrote:I don't understand your point.Holkerbird wrote:Well done Ian for being as fair as possible with the allocation. You knew it was a poisoned chalice but what the hell.
People go on about the Xbar regulars but I am casting my mind back to the couple of years when we were relegated and there were about 6 to 12 regulars in the Xbar. No one wanted to know then. Ok, it is rammed now because we are having some success but the ones who stayed loyal are the ones rewarded.
Even now there's as steady stream of fans leaving at half time to go to the Soccer Bar. Always have and always will probably.
That's their choice but don't start bleating about unfairness.
Why does every occasion have to be marred by the whingers and moaners.
Are you saying that fans who drink in The Soccer Bar are NOT as loyal as the fans who drink in The Cross Bar?
Or have I misinterpreted your comment?
They may have qualified on other criteria but that is another matter.

You didn't want to go but don't disparage those who do.The people who work on the programme are probably decent folk earning a living. Why turn on them? Each to his own I say.
