Proud of our team ,made 3rd round and a bit of money, all still to play for in the F.A. trophy and the league, onwards and upwards.
Re: BAFC V Rochdale.
You could definitely physically fit more people in - but the capacity is set on things like the percentage of the ground that's covered, the number of exits and crush barriers etc.walney rock wrote:No way is HS a sell out could deffo fit way more in

Re: BAFC V Rochdale.
We were beaten by a good team today saying that first goal was so soft and I'm convinced the guy for the second goal came back from an offside position, we desperately need someone to control the midfield, I still think we look unbalanced but Cox must know this, rowe looked way off the pace he was gasping for breath after 10 minutes!
I just hope this game hasn't took too much out of us as we had to put a lot of effort in
Not too disappointed because it's the league that matters,
Wonder what the crowd will be on Tuesday?

That's true, the first goal was very poor. No marking and no-one on the posts

Hard to be critical of a team who had done so well to get this far but we really let ourselves down today.
A couple of them are certainly not ready for league football yet.
Anyway massive month a head if we have promotion ambitions.

Re: BAFC V Rochdale.
The team that finished looked a better one than the one which started.
Our midfield was completely overrun.
Only Danny Livesey looked like he can play at a higher level.
A few of our players lacked effort or just not good enough.
But excellent effort to get to the 3rd round, well done.
I will bump the "Missing" subject up ready for Tuesday.
Southport game now massive to get back among the top 5...

Agree with everything you say ,apart from the effort as you say we got a reality check today on the level we need to be at, but Cox keeps mentioning this so now he needs the boards backing!whitty1969 wrote:The team that finished looked a better one than the one which started.

Re: BAFC V Rochdale.
Comfortably beaten by the best team to play here for some years.
A marvellous effort by our team to get this far however.
We have strengths which might get us out of the National League, but higher up it just won't work to bypass the midfield and lump it forward.
We didn't really create anything by passing through midfield, and more importantly didn't, as usual, try to adopt that tactic. It's always hoof it.
Nonetheless a great effort.
Let's get promoted and win the FA Trophy now.

Absolutely, he had a great game.John_Bucks wrote:Rochdale number 9 has been emended today. Covered every blade
Well beaten by a team that looked like they could've moved up a gear or two if they had to. Danny was outstanding today & Akil was an improvement to the team when he came on - Jordan & Byron were well looked after by their defenders although it would've been nice for Byron to snatch a goal back with that chance late on that just went wide.
Well beaten by a good team who looked comfortable throughout, so no complaints.
Fantastic to see the old ground packed like that.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: BAFC V Rochdale.
Watched it on the Telly and only had 2 drinks so I had a better view than most. I didn't expect us to win but I was disappointed. We started off very nervy, Beeley and Anderson particularly poor(Beeley/Anderson for the first) and where they found the most joy. They dominated the midfield, thought it was an odd decision to chuck the new lad straight in. Moussa had a great chance to put us level but apart from that and the Harrison effort in the 95th, we looked nowhere near scoring. Plenty off huffing and puffing but we were nowhere near good enough. Didn't give a good account of ourselves but we've had a poor few weeks. I hope this doesn't have a negative affect on the league, although I feel it will. This should strengthen Cox's position in the transfer market, with the chairman being brought back to reality.
One thing that came across was the lack of leaders in the team. Several times we just needed someone to grab other by the scruff of the neck and sort it out.
Livesley did but that was with 10 to go. Felt the ball didn't always fall our way. Can't fault the red got it all bar one decision right. Let there lad off with a couple of fouls.
Hope everyone had a good day out. Mush have been some sight seeing HS full.
Had a good run getting this far. Above and beyond.
Looks like the wait for a plum 4th round time continues.

Re: BAFC V Rochdale.
Very easy game for Rochdales centre backs.
Swatting attacks away like flys. Sometimes chesting the ball down and deciding what to have for tea tonight before passing.
Made it a very easy game for them.
Akil should have started . New lad looked lost in the middle.
