They were a good side as ive stated before, but not that good. The atmosphere was pretty good as well, ive just watched plymouth defend out a draw at livpool,if it wasnt for the plymouth fans in a 50,000 crowd it would have been like a library.

We had 2 shots. Every long ball was swallowed by the two centre backs.

That was the most comfortable win they will have for years
As usual your wrong,we had 7 shots,3 on target .

Oh so you do still come on here? Gone quiet on the PM front thats all.

Either way, Shots or efforts on goal? The main thing being they weren't tested could have played until midnight and their centre backs might have only just broken into a sweat.

Nevertheless I agree that Hannah and Panayiotou could be told that they are to start both of this week's games to give them a fair chance and allow the first-choice (thus far) forwards some rest.

I wouldn't want us to treat the Trophy with the disdain some top level teams have treated the Cup. Bournemouth, for example, cheated their fans and those of Millwall by sending a weak side to The Den. While I am sure the latter fans will be delighted to be in the fourth round, the manner of their victory must seem rather hollow.

If the squad size improves, the LSC might allow more scope to experiment as it isn't a straightforward first team competition but I just can't imagine the managerial team thinking it doesn't matter.
You're talking about the FA Cup! And I agree with you. But the FA Trophy? I mean, c'mon! And as for the LSC? Who's interested???

If we were middle of the table with nothing to play for I'd be looking at the FA Trophy in a different light.

Play a weakened team in this tournament - yes - but risk injuries to key players! No; I don't think so!

We have key fixtures against promotion rivals coming up: Lincoln, Tranmere and FGR.
To play a full strength team against Matlock or any other opponent in the tournament is madness!
I agree with a 'winning mentality'...yes; but only in the National League. Now that our unbeaten run has come to an end I hope Paul Cox will give the fringe team players an opportunity to shine in the FA Trophy.

If you watch the highlights youll see Liam Hughes have a go at whoever should have been marking the goalscorer. Go back 15-20 seconds and you see Liam Hughes give the ball on the away on the halfway line which lead to the corner.

What a donkey.

Mmmm...interesting.

I heard a rumour on the Holker End on Saturday and also yesterday whilst socialising that there is DISCONTENT among the players. I'm clutching at straws here but maybe Liam Hughes's actions are an indication of this?

Like I say...Maybe??? I hope NOT.

Both full back were very poor and in my eyes were at fault for the goals. 20 seconds in football is a long time. Plenty more passages of play. He can still point out basic errors like.

Do we have any leaders ? Apart from Livesley we don't seem to have any.

It was Anderton that lost his man for the corner IIRC

Dale fan again here, hope you don't mind,I thought you had fight but seemed to run out of steam as I said in earlier post, also seemed to be out of ideas, some one mentioned earlier about long ball, direct play, hoofball or whatever you wish to call it,it was easy to read yr play and a suggestion of keeping it on the floor may have caused us more problems, long ball game is great if you have player that can win it in the first instance and then holding until necessary, calvin Andrew for us number 9 ste Davis also more recently, even though we have this we do like to play out from back, maybe that's a confidence thing,it a strange thing that someone mentioned some discontentment or disconnection,my brother and I both attended and both felt this about yr side when travelling home,I hope we are wrong but something not quite right,I'll be watching and wishing you well for rest of season

Rochdale deserved their win and demonstrated why they are on a good run at the top reaches of League 1. They were also a lot ‘cuter’ than us. A good example is around 1:30 into the BBC highlights at http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38544176

At the bottom of the screen you’ll see Beeley running back when Henderson crosses behind him and Beeley goes sprawling to the ground while Henderson goes on to be unmarked in the centre of the box. An unfortunate collision or a trip? You can see Beeley starting to express his opinions to the assistant ref once the ball has gone out of play. There were many similar off-the-ball incidents during the game with lots of holding back and obstruction taking place. The officials either didn’t see it, chose to ignore it or maybe that’s just normal in League 1.

Whatever is the case I don’t like to see that kind of ‘gamesmanship’. Rochdale were undoubtedly the better side and I hope they go further in the cup. I just felt that they didn't need to adopt that approach. They showed they can be better than that and it just took a bit of the gloss off their performance for me. But the officials allowed it to happen and you take what advantage you can in these situations.
Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom.....

I saw Beeley trip up I didn't see anything in it in hindsight I think (apart from Danny ) we were so naive both goals could and should have been avoided ,andertons half arsed attempt at basic defending and all Beeley had to do was look across the line and step back and he's offside !
We needed to be more streetwise too often we were knocked off the ball too easily and whilst I accept Rochdale were better than us if we had worked a little bit harder it could have made a difference
Regarding hughes he looks overweight we also had rowe seemingly out of breath after about ten minutes you can't carry anyone against a side as good as Rochdale, anyway I'm sure Cox noticed all this and hopefully recruits well!
