Before the Lincoln game in which he was injured, Harrison had scored 1 goal (a penalty at Boreham Wood) in his previous 688 minutes playing time.

It's not just his goals that he brings to the team. He is head and shoulders above all of our squad and is a huge loss right now. Can't wait to see him back.

Maybe the manager has spent all of his big budget

Lack of investment or a manager who hasn't spent wisely?

I'd agree with that - it's his overall positioning and comfortability on the ball. Even if it sometimes looks a little casual, you can tell he stands out from everyone else. I think Bennett always playes better/scores goals when he was in the team.

Desperately need him back...but can we hold onto him for next season?

I would not criticize Bennett he has performed week in and out but he is no Andy Cook he is still learning his trade at this level.
We have Byron coming back soon, he is 10 X the player Cook is.

I hope you got one of the steam train passing by as we went out. Much more interesting than the game!

We saw that whilst stuck at Lindal lights.

Maybe we should have a thread of things more interesting than the Barrow v Sutton game. I could add my hot dog to the list.

A very similar game to the one we played out at Sutton, and not just in scoreline. Two one paced sides seemingly content to share out the points on offer. Where was the pressing, the urgency and most of all hunger and passion from the players.

As Lenny Kravitz sang "It ain't over till it's over" If "Tuesday's dead" then "That's all" so I'm "Wishing I was lucky" and we are still " Living on a prayer"

Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that a steward and two fans had recently passed away. Could someone please pm me details? I was a steward for 7 years and also met a lot of terrace folk. Thank you.

Shaun,

It was me who mentioned it, but I didn't catch the names. I'm sure someone on here will know.

Believe it or not but its pretty much the same football we endured over Edmo.

Aye and there's the rub...

If hoofball is successful then fair enough, the ends justify the means and few would complain; it may not be for the purist but it can be exciting to watch. Remember the old Wimbledon crazy gang who went from non league to the first division with the route one game?

However if it is not working then there should be enough nous in a full time professional set up to try other options shirley.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Can you blame the paying public from staying away from Holker St? After that performance yesterday, all we want to see is a team that has shape and plays football, but with Cox i dont think we will see it happen. Ive hust read an article in the Non-League about us, Say no more!!!!!

Our current average attendance is 1397

Take a look at our historic attendances: http://www.european-football-statistics ... b/barr.htm

Only 2 other seasons in the last 17 years have we averaged better. Even if the attendances are low for the rest of the season it is no worse than our norm.

We have a core of just over 1000 and I cant see that changing. All I want to see is our team first and foremost safe and then competing well in the league alongside the club progressing, which it is. Or how about we do a Kidderminster, try and needlessly play a possession based game and get relegated. Maybe your so called 'paying public' would turn up and we would average 2000?

It's a tricky one.
Yesterday as a spectacle it was dire. Like everyone else in the ground I was desperate for just one to go in to keep us in with a shout.
It just didn't look like happening, and to watch really ineffective and unattractive football is a test for even the most ardent of supporters, and I include myself as such.
I'm not going to stop going, but on the back of Torquay, after yesterday, I confess to the thought having crossed my mind if the style remains frustratingly ugly.
As I've been saying for a long time, we are one dimensional. Without total fitness, commitment and team spirit it won't work. I was disappointed to see some squabbles between our own players during the game. We are easy to play against.
I suspect the players aren't so keen on playing hoof it. It's constantly physical, challenging for high balls all the time. It surprises me that some posters don't realise why Hannah isn't played more. He simply doesn't fit the style.
We need to win more headers than we have been recently playing this style, and the constant flick ons need to be more effective.
Disappointing times, but it could change on Tuesday, that's why I'll be there.
