There may be a core of 1000 supporters who come through thick and thin, but there is a definite 200 to 400 who are fickle. They come when things are going right, but suddenly drop off after a few matches if things are going against us or the football looks poor.Hitthebar22 wrote:
It's a tricky one.
Yesterday as a spectacle it was dire. Like everyone else in the ground I was desperate for just one to go in to keep us in with a shout.
It just didn't look like happening, and to watch really ineffective and unattractive football is a test for even the most ardent of supporters, and I include myself as such.
I'm not going to stop going, but on the back of Torquay, after yesterday, I confess to the thought having crossed my mind if the style remains frustratingly ugly.
As I've been saying for a long time, we are one dimensional. Without total fitness, commitment and team spirit it won't work. I was disappointed to see some squabbles between our own players during the game. We are easy to play against.
I suspect the players aren't so keen on playing hoof it. It's constantly physical, challenging for high balls all the time. It surprises me that some posters don't realise why Hannah isn't played more. He simply doesn't fit the style.
We need to win more headers than we have been recently playing this style, and the constant flick ons need to be more effective.
Disappointing times, but it could change on Tuesday, that's why I'll be there.
I have to ask...if Ross Hannah isn't to our style, why the hell did we get him in in the first place?
