Re: All time appearances
How many appearances has Ralph made?
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Re: All time appearances
I'm pretty proud that I've seen so many on that list play so many times. Seems to be a fairly large contingent from my lifetime, especially late 70s through the 80s, but the one exception is Paul Wilson. Who is/was that? Sorry to ask, just don't know him.
"Walter, I'm sure there's a reason you brought your dirty undies..."
Re: All time appearances
Shaun, Paul Wilson was a regular, usually at left full-back, in our early days of non-league in the NPL. You can see him in the attached photo from 74-75. I am not certain of this but I think we got him from Lancaster (or possibly Netherfield?) and the last I heard of him was some mention that he was at Wembley to watch us in the 1990 Trophy Final. Paul had enough sideboard to make Ray Dorset envious.

Re: All time appearances
Paul was from Netherfield. A couple of seasons after that picture he was bald as a coot!
He was a fullback but could also fill in as a midfielder. The tag 'utility player' was often mentioned in the same breath as his name.

Anyone else remember billy Kenny, Only played a couple of games for us in the mid 90s, blessed with a great talent but unfortunately wasted it

When we got beat by Wigan in the FA Cup (4-0 was it?) he still got man of the match in the national papers.... another example of a wasted talent

Re: All time appearances
He had certain, ahem, habits which weren't conducive to a footballing career and he was out of the game in his early 20s. He could have had a career with Everton before Barrow, but it seems he was unable to resist the temptations put in front of him. It was indeed a wasted talent.
Re: All time appearances
So going back to the original post, congrats on 200 games Alex kinda makes you one of us.
