Now that could be your homework for tonight Nige!!

FGR have the squad but it doesn't guarantee them promotion.

We are were we are, and we are Barrow,so anything can happen!!!

Some good stops from Flatt today. It could have been more.

I don't think we are ready for promotion either but it would be nice to be in the play offs. Still achievable. Onwards and upwards :D :D :D
Just say no to VAR :sentoff:

That's a great free kick - pity about the final result.

:scarf: Disappointing today but if last Friday you'd have said we will get 6 points from three consecutive away games most would have been more than happy.

The fat lady is practising her lines for the final game of the season with Holker Street packed to the rafters. :scarf:

Tell whoever filmed in watch out, your bouncers threw a Barrow supporter out today for filming. But I suppose it's one rule for one yet again

Why? Are there protected rights for National League games or is it down to individual clubs...?

Broadcasters are shit**ng themselves over live streaming which seems to be filtering down to the lower leagues.

A game too far today. For a change all the pre-match analysis was reasonably spot on. Maidstone's performance was one of the best I've seen from an opponent this season. They are not a big side but have lots of pace in midfield and up front. The pitch suits their style of play. the plastic surface was actually good - better than Suttons. The ball did move pretty quickly across the surface and supported a pacey type of game. This being the third away game in 7 days it did find us out. We looked fatigued at the end of each half.

This was actually quite a decent game. Both of their goals were very scrappy efforts from close range. Both sides hit the post in the first half and both scored. Pity we couldn't have held out until HT. Best game in a Barrow shirt by Flatt, showing that whatever his faults he is a great shot stopper. Diarra/Livesey were rocks in defence and they needed to be. Even though it looked like we would lose from about 70 minutes in, there was no giving up and the attitude remained pretty positive.

Speaking to the locals at Half-time its clear that the change in fortunes for Maidstone can be dated from the acquisition of a couple of loanees in midfield and the signing of Loza up-front. Unfortunately for us, Loza was facing Danny Rowe and gave him a tough time. Beeley was also compromised a couple of times out wide and there was a lot of last ditch if brave defending. We were dangerous at set pieces, much less so in open play. As fatigue began to set in we started to play more long ball. Personally I was a little disappointed with both Williams and Bennett both of whom took up decent positions at times without really being able to supply a finish. This was a day when the strength and guile of Harrison was really missed.

Am not kicking the cat tonight. We were beaten not by a better team but by a team playing better. No doubt there will be a few that will point out that our squad size constraints means that there will be occasions like today when our physical limitations will be exposed. Cant argue with that but neither can I get too depressed as long as the 11 on the pitch actually give it a go. This has been a really good season and even under siege it was good to see the side not buckle. However the lessons to be learned were also pretty obvious and have nothing to do with the quality of our squad or Paul Cox's style of play. The reality is that we are 2-3 decent players short of being able to sustain a meaningful promotion push at this late stage in the season. If this is a lesson that the club is prepared to learn and deal with, we could actually be stronger next season.

With the way the season has gone, I am sure we will attract that much better players and strengthen us for next season.
We are not done yet but I reckon this is as far. Last play off will be Dover or Aldershot.
Next season we will be that much better equipped and not let silly games slip beyond us.
We move on and next Saturday we should get a good turn from the masses

Good atmosphere with a 2800 crowd and a decent first half. Reasonable even first half although we were second best but complately outplayed in the second half and to be fair they could have won the game by 4 or 5 on play. Great free kick by Turnbull and excellent performances by Flatt, Livesey and Diarra but exposed down their right flank time after time without Anderton and Beeley also struggled. As people have already said, they looked a decent side and probably gave the most skillful performance in the half dozen matches I've seen Barrow in this season.

I am not sure where the April Fools joke occurred but it did make me laugh when at the end of ninety mins the board showed 6. Because I thought Diarra who was absolutely useless today, with so many mis timed headers and shinners, was being subbed. (3 subs already used) But no it was six minutes added on. There was only one team who wanted to win, and it wasn't Barra. We were politely greeted at the ground, given a couple of Safety issues and took our place behind the goal in the newly opened terraced stand. Having survived four very useful long throws from their number eleven, we were awarded a free kick which was beautifully despatched by Turnbull. I lost count the number of times we didn't clear our lines and none more so than when they richly scored just before the break. Not sure what to make of Flatt, great shot stopper (and saved us several times) but no command in his goal area. His kicking is poor but then again there was quite a wind blowing from the Medway, straight down the plastic pitch. Danny Rowe had a game to forget and the midfield were 'just not at the races' Poor old Bennett spent more time defending set pieces than anything else as he was starved of service. Danny Livesey headed against the post, when we were leading and Richie B just couldn't quite poke the rebound home. We were under the cosh for the first twenty mins after the break and it was no surprise when the Stones went in front. It was such a scrappy goal, with Beeley trying to clear the ball as it ricocheted around and went in off Lewis, their number 8. Previously Diarra had been turned inside out. As was previously documented, Maidstone were an improving side mainly with a few Loan players and looked confident when going forward. Their No 9 Piggot showed great skill when he nearly chipped Flatt who managed to get his fingers to tip the ball onto the post. This was one game too far. Should of asked for my money back on the programme. Under Barrow history, it was all about Sutton (the previous home fixture) so someone botched big time. But then, so did we and i guess I will return next year for more Plastic.

a former member of this forum why would it be a disaster? I personally just want to witness that first game back in the football league in my lifetime. Yes i have dreamt about it, always said wherever i am in the world, the day Barrow AFC play there next game in the football league i will be there.
Ready or not we have to take any opportunity to make this happen. The flip side is if we still exist in however many years time, we could be sharing a beer saying do you remember when we had a chance.
So in my opinion your disaster opinion is yet another troll xxx
