Maidstone Match Thread
Re: Maidstone Match Thread
The Football League also brings bigger attendances, perhaps not from the people of Barrow. But certainly more away support coming to Holker Street.

So you are saying the extra money gained through crowds go on policing them and that away fans only turn up to pay for the policing of said fans?DIXIE wrote:I assume this is why they pay to enter. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:

I hope one day we get you in as a director [SwearFilter]. You make it sound so easy to predict what will happen in the future.

I predict this degenerating slowly into a morass of pish (if that's possible) as a former member of this forum enlivens his shift by upsetting middle aged men who should know better, occasionally including me

Actually in the case of this middle aged man, a former member of this forum is no problem at all . If I had the energy and enthusiasm I'd continue the debate but in the end I just don't see that it is worth it .barrowaberdeen wrote:I predict this degenerating slowly into a morass of pish (if that's possible) as a former member of this forum enlivens his shift by upsetting middle aged men who should know better, occasionally including me
So crack on a former member of this forum - I'll watch with interest
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

Happily, unless leaving the foot in on a centre half a few yards ago. Amd I know you love the club
I don't disagree we'd struggle massively unless we try to grow the club by marketing it properly. I am far from unsure this argument wasn't around when we were last in the league..perhaps a wiser head like PJ Daly might attest to that, I wish he'd post more.
But for some of the folk that argued about it at the time and stayed all the way through (must be about 200 tops of them left) wouldn't it mean everything to get back whatever the problems long term!

Where is the massive change in income coming from?
Increased attendances? The league themselves? Some TV money?
Just trying to understand where the substantial increase in income would come from...

Re: Maidstone Match Thread
Selfishly I'd give anything to see Barrow play a couple of seasons in the football league if that means I would have to support Barrow as a non league club for the rest of my life after that I could live with it.
I love the ahead of schedule stuff Cox and co come out with but for me this will be a massive missed opportunity should we not make the play offs this season.

Quite. The old members already voted for x years of winning more than losing in exchange for supporting AFC Barrow AFC once those years are up.barrowfan_chris wrote:Selfishly I'd give anything to see Barrow play a couple of seasons in the football league if that means I would have to support Barrow as a non league club for the rest of my life after that I could live with it.

Stephen you have said twice now that you don not want to give your view on things. I am intrested in what you have to say.Stephen Leonard wrote:Actually in the case of this middle aged man, a former member of this forum is no problem at all .
