Considering whats happened over the past 48 hours , there is nothing from the club on its Website, Facebook or Twitter.

Another theory is Hartlepool might have thought Cox agreeing terms we would reduce the amount we were looking for in compensation?

This I would think, nothing else makes sense really. It won't have done much for us in terms of our own recruitment but that's football I suppose.

I just wish the club website was at least as quick as the Northern Echo for a statement.

Does anyone know what the parachute payment is the first season after a team drops out of League 2 is that Hartlepool will get?
I know its a fair bit but won't come anywhere near what the likes of Tranmere and Forest Green spent, just interested?

On the point about Livesey, he was on a good wage and wanted a 2 year contract despite being 32, not a surprise we let him go really.
Shows more ambition in letting him go as there are better players than him available and he'll not get better at his age - dropping a league shows the direction he's going.

I don't think Casson wanted to go up this season as it was too soon and would leave so much to do off the field with the ground improvements that are required for League 2 standard and this is why he never spent more cash in January which probably upset Cox.
Have no issue with Cox speaking to Hartlepool to see what they're offering (anyone would do the same) but they must've known already he had 2 years left on his contract and would've had to pay a fair amount of compensation to us?

What I make of it, assuming it's true, is that Cox is open to offers and that if a club with money has the ability to buy out the remainder of his contract he will go.

The question is whether this is different for any other manager or club...

I would imagine if Casson had wanted to save money he would have let Cox go for very little compo and get a cheaper option in place who could work with a small budget.

With the club losing 1 million a year - I am guessing Cox had a good budget to work with. I am still not convinced we won't see Cox leaving this week. I want him to stay but if he doesn't want to be here I'd rather we had a manager that wants to manage us.

Jim Harvey was good working with small budgets however. He would have loved to have a go with P/C's budget last season.

Incidentally. He got the boot by talking to another club WITHOUT permission.

What if cox can't leave because of this fee? What kind of a situation does this leave between manager/owner and players. Can't see a higher division club coming in for him who would have the capita because there's plenty bigger managers out there. Papa Cass needs to get this one sorted quickly
