Re: Jordan Williams
It's called business, good business! Paul Cox knows how to spot good talent from lower leagues and if the club makes some money along the way to help fund the playing budget, why not? Sad to see him go and he probably won't be the last. Stop being so bloody defeatist just because one of our best players is being sold for a huge profit. Look at poor old Southampton, it happens in the Premier League as well.

Re: Jordan Williams
Southampton are just happy to be in the premier league we on the other hand are supposedly trying to get out of one of the most competitive leagues going we should be fighting tooth and nail to keep our best players by the way Paul Cox picks the players we need as long as his phone calls are answered !Dalton Bluebird wrote:It's called business, good business! Re: Jordan Williams
can we all just get back to being football fans for one minute. this was always going to happen and as promised this money will go straight to paul cox to spend on reinforcements. that puts us in the best possible position at this stage of the season. jordan for me was a tad lazy and full of himself. thats my opinion let me have it. i welcome the money in cox's back pocket. also a nice sweetener given the fact he so publicly was denied the money in january. calm down calm down. punctuation polis can F off too.

Re: Jordan Williams
Good luck to him, a great player for us who even if having a quiet game will still score an amazing goal out of nothing.
Can't stand in his way
If cox gets some of the moneyl I'm confident it'll get us some one equally as good.

Yes you are right Paul Cox is going to have alot of money to spend unless it's paid through a Italian Bank.Dalton Bluebird wrote:It's called business, good business! Re: Jordan Williams
What are you on about? How do you know what will happen to any money received? To many on here presume to know all the private business of the club and too many experts that think they can do a better job than the owner/ manager. Have some faith in them, after all they got us to our best ever non league position.Pedro wrote:Yes you are right Paul Cox is going to have alot of money to spend unless it's paid through a Italian Bank.Dalton Bluebird wrote:It's called business, good business! Evening Mail Headline two days ago apparently said Barrow AFC chairman will put transfer fees into playing budget, it quoted Mr Casson saying...Dalton Bluebird wrote:What are you on about? Re: Jordan Williams
When we were promoted to Div 3 in 1967 we sold our best player to Portsmouth for a record fee of 20 grand. Nobody complained in those days, fortunately forums were not around and if there were any cynics they only expressed their sad views to a few mates in their local.
Re: Jordan Williams
How is it "worrying" to see him leaving??? Does anyone seriously think any conference side could hang on to their best players if a League One side comes calling?
Why not just refuse to sell and then have an unhappy player winding down his contract...
£100,000 would be a very good fee - I don't think Ipswich paid much more than that for their two non-league signings last season.

Re: Jordan Williams
if im right bar a few sneaky handshakes and promises we didn't actually pay anything for him? therefore any amount of money for him is GOOD business( obviously a pound a former member of this forum would be naff) if we also get back to being the barrow fans we all actually are then i can't really remember any season where we have had to worry which league one club our(arguably) best player who isn't even the top scorer or second top scorer is going to and for which extortionate fee. usually we are waving goodbye to an entire squad of whoevers from wherever at this stage of the season and wondering when the first wayne curtis post is coming. all in good time the barrow afc ship is steady. some are bound to be walking the plank its inevitable. show coxy the money $$$
