Re: Floodlights Update
I think there will be an announcement on Wednesday, possibly Thursday this coming week Paul.Paul wrote:Spirit, any news ? - clocks ticking towards the new season !!spirit of 1990 wrote:As far as I know nothing has changed, the start date is still the same and there are no problems.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Floodlights Update
It's says in the EM that work on the floodlights is due to start next week and to be finished by the middle of next month
Just my opinion
Re: Floodlights Update
Hope it's not a wet day on Sat 8th against Blackburn then - might be a bit dull if the lights aren't ready ??walney rock wrote:It's says in the EM that work on the floodlights is due to start next week and to be finished by the middle of next month

Planning application here: http://www.barrowbc.gov.uk/residents/pl ... /2017/0301
Re: Floodlights Update
So we're hopefully getting 40x 2kw lights overlooking the pitch. That's 10 per quarter of the pitch, should be nice and bright.

Re: Floodlights Update
How can work begin on Monday if the club hasn't got planning consent and a decision isn't due until mid-July?
It all comes 'round again.
Re: Floodlights Update
I think if I remember rightly on the last weekly video, they said something along the lines of they can do work inside the ground, but need permission when they need access from outside?Nigel Bamford wrote:How can work begin on Monday if the club hasn't got planning consent and a decision isn't due until mid-July?

Should improve the quality of your photo's Dave.DaveC wrote:So we're hopefully getting 40x 2kw lights overlooking the pitch. That's 10 per quarter of the pitch, should be nice and bright.
Re: Floodlights Update
Looking at the plans submitted, the way I read it is there'll be 9 lights at the top of each popular side pole, 6 at the top of each pole at either end of main stand, 2 additional lights at a height of 20m on each pole pointing at both goalmouth areas & 4 across the top of the main stand..
Re: Floodlights Update
Don't understand where you get that info from - plan of ground on the application clearly shows four poles, one in each corner of the ground & 40 lights quoted, presumably 10 to each pole.madplumpy wrote:Looking at the plans submitted, the way I read it is there'll be 9 lights at the top of each popular side pole, 6 at the top of each pole at either end of main stand, 2 additional lights at a height of 20m on each pole pointing at both goalmouth areas & 4 across the top of the main stand..
Or I may have interpreted it completely differently.
