They're spunking more on wages than we are each week (£25k at the last count) despite being two steps lower, and the chairman/manager is an egomaniac looking to impress his celebrity mates and cancels friendlies due to criticism on Twitter. It's been done many times in the south with the likes of Hornchurch, Margate and Whitehawk, and never ends well.

As for always bringing up Fylde, that joke got old about a year ago. Nobody is riled by the comparison, it's just tedious. The reason they are where they are is that someone has thrown unbelievable money at it. Comparing ourselves to any club is stupid anyway, as it's all relative. It's the kind of pathetic, meaningless debate you see on the Facebook pages between 'fans' of Chelsea and Man United, or Messi and Ronaldo - but then, that's the sort of level we're dealing with, I guess.
Spot on post this, some daft comparisons being made on here with other non-league teams as a stick to beat our own club with.

Fylde will finish higher that Barrow this year. I know
Its hard to accept but it will happen. Casson will be in touch with his mate once a month whilst Mill Farm will be full of developments and well appointed personel.

I've held off posting on here for a while and apologise as some of what I'm posting is off-topic......
can I query if a former member of this forum and other posters on here are aware?
the esteemed chairman of afc fylde and the tangerine group (named because of his lifelong love of blackpool fc) has history of saying one thing and then changing his stance later on. he was a mainstay of the defend Lytham group opposed to fracking using the argument to get planning permission for his stadium then changed sides to the pro fracking side.

on the #askpaul on twitter a former member of this forum asked about gary simpson which was subsequently answered at fans forum yet then has audacity to say none of his questions were answered and he had sent a proxy.

tranmere have been put up by him on this thread as not being a selling club. in the last week their manager has been quoted as saying he is keen to keep squad together.
doesn't sound like none of our players are available !!

on the subject of tranmere are you aware that when palios took over their previous chairman wrote off personal debts of 5-7million
palios had a plan a- to return them to the league within two years
plan b- investing in football in china and buying a hotel where all profits would go to club, neither showing any profits
plan c - launched Wirral live a series of concerts at prenton park to make up deficit of losing leagues parachute payments, guess what they ended up giving out tickets as
sweeteners to sell shirts/season tickets and majority of hospitality sales on day were recouped by there supporters trust who run fan zone outside ground and ran bars there on concert days.
I only mention this as a former member of this forum has previously mentioned about our club having a plan b and wanted to highlight just because other clubs have them they don't always work.

in the last audited accounts tranmere had gross losses of nearly a million not taking into account the 0.4m parachute payment from the league. not bad on gates of nearly 5,000. then again with a off-field team of nearly 30 and palios's daughter as financial controller....
general consensus regarding tranmeres constant social media updates by their own fans is that its due to all the staff trying to justify their positions. they realise after the released list of players made up of their upcoming academy players that they could be next.

in answer to his Billericay town worship. are you aware of George Reynolds at Darlington he did the same look where it ended

previously a former member of this forum you have asked people to name an area making the club money I believe the chairman has actually answered this partially and probably to your satisfaction by saying he has cut deficit in half from previous season and also he wasn't making money from hospitality.
I question why are you now so negative on an attempt to make money from it next season and haven't asked if offering has changed from last year i.e. drinks tokens says to me we are no longer getting cans but actual drinks from bar? if this is the case 5 drinks for a tenner sounds a bargain !

Answered how? By saying theres nothing to say on it at the moment?, is that really an answer?

Fylde mean business. The owner says he is going to do something, and it gets done. Fylde don't have to worry about financing a stadium redevelopment or putting floodlights up. Theyve got money coming in from other areas now and that can be used to improve the squad. Barrow over the next 5 years will have to juggle a lot of things, using mainly the owners cash injections.

I really don't understand that sentence, sorry.

Contrary to the above post , Ive never mentioned anything about the club having a plan B, in fact quite the opposite. My problem is with the fact there are seemingly no plans.

I do believe however Having Plans, A , B, and C are better than, "lets see if we can get to the football league sometime soon and take it from there". There needs to be something in place and the fans need to understand what is planned so they can commit to helping towards the goals set.

My question was what has been put in place by the owner since the takeover that is generating its own income ? Has anyone ever answered the question? I don't think anyone has even attempted. The owner certainly hasn't given one or two examples of where the club makes money off the pitch ( Yes he doesn't have to I understand that).

Im confused with this again. If you think its actual drinks from the bar that will be included as part of a drinks token then how is it a good attempt to make money?

5 pints free at £3.50 each to the customer usually, that = £17.50. You can get 36 cans at tesco for £20. I personally think it would just be cans on offer and they've just limited them. To suggest actual drinks being served is a bargain then saying its an attempt to save money because money wasn't being made on it is bizarre.

I would think that the deficit was halved based on getting rid of players on silly wages and stopping expensive kit launches in London from the Edmo run. I don't see where the club makes its money other than gate receipts at the moment. I don't think the changes to hospitality will attract the fans that have used it in the past anymore. Have a look at the hospitality thread and see how many people are now saying they won't bother with it after seeing what you get for your money.

the response given to you about gary simpson, if you understand employment law this is the only response the club can give otherwise the financial implications could be huge
I wouldn't disagree with you on the fact that afc fyldes chairman get things done I was merely pointing out the way he does things isn't exactly transparent. dare I mention the blatant ignoring of the planning inspectorate whilst renovating a property in cark.
I apologise for the typo on tranmere managers comments I meant to say their players are available.
with regards mentioning a plan b actually you did under the #askpaul on twitter during the fans forum
with regards to your question about naming areas the club is making money. As previously stated the club have said they have halved deficits so they are obviously making more money in some areas but not enough to say this area or that area is in profit. I was merely pointing out the club have highlighted hospitality isn't making money out of it and are trying to rectify.
I'm personally waiting for fixtures to come out before enquiring about corporate for a group of us who normally meet up at an away ground and take in hospitality as we are exiles scattered round the uk. to us it seems excellent value for money compared to what we have paid previously at other national league clubs. we took in tranmere last season and reckon we spent £100 each as we had to buy our own drinks at bar. we feel hospitality is cheap for the national league and again we are all entitled to our own opinions.one of my friends actually commented its incredibly cheap for this league although I don't fancy drinking cans but maybe its too expensive for barrow.
we can both speculate on what drinks will be included in package. I will report back once I've enquired. if you look at offering as a complete package maybe they are getting a better deal off caterers and have upgraded this offering whilst getting a better price and they have listened to feedback over the course of season and changed drinks offering due to this.
again I appreciate what has been on offer in past with regards unlimited lukewarm carling cans.i still think if its five drinks from the bar for ten pounds its excellent value for money.
you mention 36 cans for £20 from asda. I think you might find that the club has a deal with a brewery that stops them nipping across the road to purchase.the cost of 24 cans off brewery will be considerably more and this isn't down to poor negotiating by the club of brewery deal as all pubs and clubs have to contend with this.

judging by what you have said on halving deficit I think even more praise should be heaped on the club for the highest ever finish if the playing budget was cut so much !!

I don't think we would be judging Casson on his dealings outside of football. Im not interested in what the Fylde chairman did when he was doing up a house. Its what they both do ( or don't do) with the football side of things that concerns us.

rigsby68 originally wrote:I only mention this as a former member of this forum has previously mentioned about our club having a plan b and wanted to highlight just because other clubs have them they don't always work.

Again, I never did that. You said in the last post I mentioned a plan b. I raised a question if there was one. My question asked if there were any plans for the next 5 years and also asked IF there was a plan b .

Making more money or not spending as wildly like what happened in the beginning. Depends what he means by halving the deficit. He might just mean he lost £2 Mil the year before but now only lost £1 Mil. I can't see the club bringing in Millions of profit a season. Can you?

Only time will tell how well that goes. Just have a look back on that thread and youll see how many tables they have lost as a result of the changes made that they will now have to replace.

Youve done it again. Youve said that 5 drinks from the bar for a tenner is good value for money, but then youve said above that the club weren't originally making money on it , hence the change. Offering pints from the bar will lose more money than dishing out cans that cost a fraction of the price to deliver to customers.
rigsby68 wrote:judging by what you have said on halving deficit I think even more praise should be heaped on the club for the highest ever finish if the playing budget was cut so much !!
The playing side isn't the problem with the club at the moment. Its the lack of employment in the right areas off the pitch , a lack of imagination and creativity with regards to boosting the clubs structure, a very vague belief/dependency/hope on getting promoted and seeing what happens without any real plan and an ever increasing gap between the fans and the club.

You ask for healthy debate and when you get it try to ridicule the poster for not paragraphing. When he had actually paragraphed his post. Turn it in you absolute nerd.
