In Business you sometimes have to make decisions that to the layman with no experience may look daft but in reality are the best thing to do...

You also sometimes have to wait for the chosen company to be available to do the work for you & don't just hire any old firm who is available anytime, There's a reason they're available, The new pitch needs time to bed in therefore needed doing in the timeframe it was done in, same with the lights but you need to break the eggs before you make the Omelette, If the pitch is wrecked on the day it's needed cry foul & I will agree with you, If it's fine when the day arrives your just going to look daft again aren't you.

Just seems a bit odd that you wouldn't check if cables would need to be laid under the pitch. You'd think that would be one of the first questions asked.

Sorry, but I have to agree with a former member of this forum on this one - better planning needed all round. They've had since last Summer,when the floodlights were originally planned to be installed, to sort the practicalities/timescales out.

Exactly, theres been more than enough time. It can't be put down simply as an oversight.

We were told a whole year ago the floodlights were being replaced before the start of last season - [SwearFilter] me the Olympics took less planning

Looking at the photo in that Tweet I don't think much of that new pitch. I've seen better-looking concrete terracing.

Question, Is this trenching going under the actual pitch or the track pitch side?

it was said a while ago that the trench was going in front of the main stand - so unless something has changed it's not on the actual pitch....
and that trench was delayed by the scaffolding (for the shotblasting etc) being up.

First hole dug out in front of the Trust shop, think they struggled a bit as the excavation team usually dig round holes and this one's square.

Been a bit of local brewery herritage dug up by all accounts, hopefully Matthew Dodd will fill in the blanks at some stage.

Pitch coming on well, although I'm sure Gareth would appreciate a bit more rain in the dark hours.

I was at the ground this morning and they mentioned digging up some of the pitch.

Well they haven't have they, FWIW I've also heard they will be running cables pitch side & might even be some channels under the pitch but as the club know of this in advance & it's an area that wasn't newly laid.

Time will tell if my HP sauce trumps your ketchup.
