If the statement by Cox to have a squad of 22 or so is his target then we are looking for another 6, assuming no loans. By the threadbare defence I hope all of those would be defenders. I suspect Hughes and Harry P are on their way out shortly so maybe even more bodies required to maintain that number. Is Ash Rawlins (the goalkeeper signed dual registration with Market Drayton last year) still in the frame?

As I gather Ash Rawlings is no longer associated with Barrow. I wouldn't be naming Dixon or Parry in the squad yet as they have only been invited back to try and earn deals.

I'm assuming the next 2 signing that we mentioned along with the Gk the other day will be signed on contract and the remaining will be picked from the trialist's & loan players to make up the 22

Those in the know, how do we think the squad is looking/shaping up?

John I don't profess to be in the know. Personally I don't think anyone really knows how the squad being assembled by Cox and co will shape up. There is plenty of promise, potential and optimism going forward though.

In my view I would like to see a couple more old heads within the squad with the necessary nous and experience to bring the best out of what we now have and add a bit of balance. Namely a defender central or otherwise. Also if Joel is not up for a fight for the keepers jersey, and I for one hope JD is, then a experienced keeper with leadership qualities.

Paul Cox has spoken many times about leaders within the team, and that is my one concern at the minute.
