Firstly, thanks for today. It was my first visit to Barrow and I felt very welcome and enjoyed your ground and your people. We had a good chat and a few drinks with some of your fans before the game, really nice people who had a real interest in our club and we exchanged stories that would've gone on for much longer had it not been for kick off.

You gave us a good game. It was only a friendly and we seemed to treat it as a pass and move exercise as expected, however all of your players seemed up for it and forced us to really work hard. In particular, the lad who scored for you, he seems to have something about him - seemed to have the movement and physicality on top of the ability required for league football. Twice he dropped the shoulder and made Charlie Mulgrew, a Scotland international look Sunday League level. Also, your Chris Samba-esque centre back stopped a lot of our balls from going through, I was impressed with him - the warrior that every time requires in their spine. With a bit of refinement I'm sure you can challenge for promotion.

As for the second half trouble, I was very shocked with the group of 15 or so young lads next to our lot, especially with the game being a friendly. They were singing/goading/gesturing for all of the first half to which our lot ignored. Second half, they threw a couple of cans over trying to provoke us, and one of our lads (idiotic and inexcusable move might i add, and got some strong words from our lot as he was collared out) ran over after an object (apparently glass even though I thought it was a coke bottle or something seeing it out of the corner of my eye) hit a lady stood with two very young kids. His reaction obviously flared things up even more with your lot who were itching for a confrontation and and probably didn't watch a minute of the 90, however we were all very impressed with the Barrow blokes who ran over to sort it out - commendable act supported by everybody in the stadium but the aforementioned idiots. Other than the one lad, the Rovers fans didn't react, however if it was a league game I fear that it would've badly kicked off uncontrollably, as we would've had more fans including a section of rowdier people who don't ever seem to travel for friendlies/smaller games. Due to this, you definitely need to nip this in the bud before the league season kicks off as away fans in the league will always contain a contingent of drunks/similar mindset people. They stuck out like a sore thumb - half of them wearing caps (including two in bright red ones) and all in typical football 'clobber' looking no older than 18. Without zero tolerance policies, idiots run wild and younger people can find themselves getting 'inspired' and involved. Every club does have its idiots, and the way your fans reacted was brilliant, so take heart from that.

Despite that blip, it was a really enjoyable day of football. Your badge alone gives me a soft spot for you, and I wish you all the best for the season ahead.

Thanks for taking the effort to post your thoughts of todays "events" These pencil neck children stand in the same place every home game and they are known to everyone. Yet, The club do sod all about it. They should never ever be allowed near the ground. And I mean for ever. Regardless of if some have never been charged with anything. The stewards and I use that word loseley are [SwearFilter] useless. The police should have been in the ground by half time. Some of our fans took it upon themselves to do something about it and they should be aplauded. But,it should NEVER have come to that. It really saddens me to be commenting about this as opposed to a football match. Anyway, I hope Blackburn don't think we are a bad club. We are not. We have gone through so much heartache over recent years ( Blackburn know what I mean) and are on the way back to better times ( hopefully) as you will be. Good luck in your fight for promotion. COME ON LANCASHIRE !!!!!!!!

That Donaldson looked class in both halves - a bit of a mystery why he was even here if we have no intention of signing him.

14 (McGlade?) looked lively and had plenty of ideas, though the execution was hit and miss. Also liked the look of the midfielder that partnered Gomis in the middle for the second half - looked skilful and willing.

Bennett arguably the best player on the pitch for the 45 mins he was on.

Couldn't see the keeper for the second half, was it Dixon? Didn't notice Andy Party there either.

Nah it wasn't Dixon, no idea who he was, quite liked him though, very vocal at organising the team when coming down the wings and set pieces, reminded me a bit of Flatt.

Wasn't going to bother today, but glad I did as it was an entertaining afternoon. Decent game of football with one or two taking the eye for us, liked the number two and number five (Coll Donaldson) they both looked accomplished footballers first half. New keeper Stuart Moore pulled off a very good save, also Moussa gave his all as usual.

Second half the ones that impressed me most besides Stu's dad and Boylie were Bedsente Gomis and Richie Bennett. Richie was different class at times. Early days but plenty to be optimistic about.

In the Q&A after the game Paul Cox said that Joel Dixon was another to suffer a set back, they think he has a bit of floating cartilage that needs removing and also Andy Parry too.

He also said that he was now looking to add one or two more experienced players to his young squad.
