Re: Blackburn
People getting bottles etc in the ground needs to be stamped out. Away fans seem to be allowed to do anything in holker street.

Re: Blackburn
These clowns have spoiled too many peoples days for too long. The worst thing is, we've got experienced supporters, who should know better, trying to stick up for them or twisting the story onto the stewarding and policing. Go to the game, have a drink, enjoy it without abusing others - its that simple. If you want to fight then get some balls and join an mma or boxing club.
A bottle doesn't magically throw itself at people.
In with bottles, out with the morons who can't control themselves.

I don't think anybody is sticking up for these idiots and they have got what they deserve.bluebird90 wrote:These clowns have spoiled too many peoples days for too long. Pointing out that alcohol in glass bottles is being consumed in the ground is not twisting the story as that also happened. It is against the sporting events act 1985.
I agree a bottle doesn't throw itself, but an intoxicated fan could quite easily launch one into opposing fans if they are at hand.
Out with both morons and glass bottles.
Re: Blackburn
Have bottles been a problem previously, or are people clinging onto anything they can to avoid actually admitting these little chavs are in the wrong?
As posted previously, it's nigh on impossible to have everyone searched for bottles etc, just as it is for flares - if they're spotted then these people should be kicked out, as I'm sure they would be anyway.

Surely prevention is better than cure, hopefully it'll never happen.Moribund wrote:Have bottles been a problem previously, or are people clinging onto anything they can to avoid actually admitting these little chavs are in the wrong?

I don't think I have read any posts sticking up for the chavs.
Agree with your last point about checking everyone though, as long as they do act if they see it happening, unlike Saturday and in the past.
Re: Blackburn
FIRSTLY I AM NOT STICKING UP FOR THEM EITHER! They are a neg on the holker street end but for the 45 minutes I have to put up with them I do so.Moribund wrote:Have bottles been a problem previously, or are people clinging onto anything they can to avoid actually admitting these little chavs are in the wrong?

They have been banned rightly or wrongly it's done!
I do still wonder what punishment the Blackburn fan got who actually broke the law that day? Either way he acted in the heat of the moment and they are incessant.
Another problem though at holker street is away fan control and stewarding! Stewarding at holker street also needs to get its arse in gear and evolve with the club. Just imagine Pompey??????? And this is highlighted more so when they over zealously steam into home fans on occasions.
On this occasion Bottles were on show next to a steward who is clearly #notarsed. This was a friendly yes so perhaps a little leeway is applied but for a pre season fixture to be segregated that tells me normal match protocol should of been in place. And especially given that these yoots were also creating a "code red situation" then the stewards should have been at least alert and aware of possible dangers. I.e. Glass bottles.
We have dealt with so many areas in which our club has been slacking Now has to be the time for an overhaul of our stewarding. If promotion is a real goal then I dread to think of the possible situations and "flash points" we would have in our first season back in the league. Das boot could be on the cards.
bit negative I know.

"...the video evidence of the Blackburn supporters who crossed the barrier has been passed on to that club for appropriate action."

It's the lamest excuse I've ever heard and they still continue to shovel it out. Get a grip!
Get the segregation sorted... before it's too late!
Your system would need a contingency plan for if we did draw Millwall in the cup, or developed a bitter rivalry with anyone.
Hardly a lame excuse - no professional outfit would ask their corporate guests to walk through the away fans or, even worse, leave the ground. It's fine where it is, but just needs something to bolster the segregation, be it more bodies or build a big fence. Or people could not act like [SwearFilter].
I used Millwall as a example.
I was simply bringing attention to the fact that the away support (National League) we receive at Holker Street is hardly likely to frighten anybody so why the fuss over the corporate people (most of whom only attend occasionally) walking past them?
You say it's fine where the segregation is. There are a number of fans who would disagree with you.
The Holker End has always been the 'Home End' until recently. When the roof has finally been restored I expect many to return to that particular terrace.
With regard to your comment: ...''no professional outfit would ask their corporate guests to walk through the away fans or, even worse, leave the ground''.
Well, no professional club would house the away support in their 'Home' enclosure. It's asking for trouble. And that's what what will continue to happen on The Holker End until a safe segregation policy is put in place.

You can't use Millwall as an example and then have a go at me for doing the same - I'm saying, "we might not play Millwall every week, but what happens if we do". You're basically asking some paying guests and employees of the club to run the gauntlet with some of the most notorious fans in the country, just because you don't like where they currently stand. The Tomahawk Kid wrote:Moribund wrote:

I do say the segregation is fine where it is - because none of those that disagree have come up with a practical solution yet.
So what if it was previously considered the "home" end? So the layout for every stadium should remain in place from the day it is built until the day it is bulldozed? I stand on the HSE anyway and have absolutely no issue whatsoever with the fact that less than a third of it is turned over to people wearing different coloured scarves.
"And that's what what will continue to happen on The Holker End until a safe segregation policy is put in place" - well that's the point, isn't it? And your suggestion is far from safe. Not only that, you'd be effectively preventing all of the Barrow fans in the main stand from having access to the Cross Bar pre-match and half-time without a trek around the stadium.
Not even sure why this is still a debate. The only thing up for debate is how to improve on a 4ft metal barrier.

Re: Blackburn
Is our ground the only one in the world where we can't accommodate away fans and home corporate people? The only person with the answer is the owner. If he want's to stop a few not yet developed kids from causing trouble at our great club, it is down to him. It's HIS club now. It's the same for corporate hospitality. He has been here long enough to see the problems and moan about them. Do something about it Mr. Casson. It is YOUR responsibility. The fans should not have to discuss it on here season after season.

The club has lost its identity, lose your home end and you sell your soul. Our gates are down partly because Barrovians do not feel part of the club and lost interest, you may get them in for the big games but then they drift away.Holker street end was and should always be our home end.

Since the Steelworks end was pulled down?
I have supported Barrow 63 years and all parts of the ground use to be the home end.
Is any supporter less passionate because they sit in the stand or stand in the Wilkie stand.
Give over, you cannot use that as an excuse for people not attending games.
