Hope not, Danny Racchi is a player who has tried and failed at a number on NL clubs in the past(Wrexham, Halifax, York & Torquay), wouldn't class him as one of the 4 Quality players needed to complete the squad, that PC referred to after the Stockport game.

Last season I said 6th-8th. So that wasn't a bad shout.

There are lots of parallels now with this time last year. A lot of players that we haven't seen much of or from teams that we don't see very often. Harrison turned up very late in pre-season last year. Yussuf and Bartram this year.

Having seen two pre-seasons at Boston and Stockport I have to say defensively we look stronger. Midfield still has one or two issues methinks. Offensively we are still trying to recover from the loss of Williams, Bennett and the long injured Harrison. I'm not sure about Jordan White yet. However, Yussuf is a cracking signing, is fast and brings a bag of tricks with him. I think he will be the player that Hannah wasn't and gives us a different potent option up front. If they were all fit and clicked I think Harrison, Yussuf and White could be as good as last years crop.

Downside is of course that this squad will be still forming and norming for the first month or two of the season. So at the moment I would predict we'll concede a few less and probably score a few less. I think it will be Januarygate all over again with a decision on re-enforcing the squad at that time pivotal to the outcome.

However the late signings have been good ones and not just "stocking fillers". Cox is also good (or was until last season) at bringing a squad to the boil at the right time. As things stand I see us probably just outside the play-offs (8th-10th). With a few tweaks however I think we could hope to get inside (6th/7th). Nonetheless, the quality of the Division gets better every year so I very much doubt that the promotion teams will come from outside the top three.

Anywhere safe from relegation thoughts will do me, the whole season. The higher the better. Just want us staying in this league for now, and a season like last or better would be just fantastic.

I said seventh to the lads at work last year (pity I never had money on that) and I've said the same to them this year. Any better to save my end of Season nerves and I'll be even happier, any worse....well, there's always the season after.
Either way, I'm happy with the place we're at at the moment.
As for winners, I can see Tranmere winning the league at a canter this year.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Not sure 'gelling as a team' is as relevant anymore... I think most teams will be at least 50% changed from last season, probably more. Therefore, if you see it as we're all in the same boat maybe it's not as important? This is based on a guess as I have not looked in to every single squad! Also, with our style of play maybe we can fumble through the first couple of months with brute force and long throw-ins ..

I am quietly optimistic about the season ahead. I am looking forward to seeing these new players we've brought in and Cox's ability to mold them into a competitive team. I think we will do alright and will go for improvement on last season - 5th. Disappointed if we struggle. I hope the struggling days are long gone.

Fifth at best ninth at worst, unless the wheels truly come off.
Tranmere to get pipped for the title but win the playoffs.
Sutton United to make the playoffs and Guiseley one of the teams to be relegated.

Think we'll be short on creativity and goalscoring this season. Defence looks better than last year and certainly more able to adapt but I'm not sure we've replaced Williams and Bennett (and Harrisons?) goals

Do you know for a fact that Paul Cox has gone to PC in the last few days and asked him to finance a player?
Do you know that this has happened and PC has refused?
Answers please who was the player?
I don't believe you have any answers. But hey if for some reason you want to carry on your agenda, why not ask PC ?
Think your [SwearFilter] again dixie, it was Paul Cox who stated he needed 4 more players, this week will show if the owner agrees. Are you happy with 16 fit players with the league starting in 5 days? I don't expect you to answer, you very rarely do[/quote
I asked you 3 questions, you failed to answer any

Hope he gets his 4 extra players and he gets the most out of the squad not having a competitive reserve side means we have players, on I'm guessing decent money, sat in the stand
Totally agree about a reserve side, it's hard to keep players interested when not playing. Also hard for them to slot in when required
We can't afford a reserve side in any league. But i am sure there are plenty of so called friendlys being played, that we never here about.
