Re: Today's game vs the Daggers

How people say we could have been 4 down at half time is beyond me. They scored two and probably deserved to be 2 up at half time, but beyond that they had a couple of half chances in the first half. In reality we could have scored 2 or 3 in the second half (but scored 1) and they could have scored 1 in the second half.. So a 2-2 draw or 3-2 to them would have been fair. So 2-1 you can't complain about. But to suggest we could have been 4 down at half time is a joke.

I wasn't at the game but just going off them highlights we looked OK in the second half. We've played a lot worse.

Wasn't at game but watched highlights;

Don't like 3 at the back. We looked shaky first half.
Great ball for arh for the goal, even tho Jones shanked it in still Good build up.
Youseff looks good, very bright. Looking forward to him and harrison up top.
Cockerline seems to have some nice touches...more finesse version of Bennett?
Gomis looks like he will put a shift in and get his foot in. What we need.

We look ok.

We didn't look like a good team in the first half, but there again neither did Dagenham. To say that they could have been 4-0 up at half time assumes that they had four (or more) chances on target which would have beaten Moore, which was not the case - apart from the two goals conceded they rarely looked threatening. Dagenham are widely regarded as being promotion contenders, but to be honest didn't look like it. We came more into it in the second half, particularly towards the end, but otherwise were never really in the game. 2-1 was probably a result somewhere between fair and flattering to us.

Not a good day out football wise; it wasn't an entertaining game by any mean (and yes I was there so following Forum protocol I am allowed an opinion :( ). But we shouldn't be too downhearted, at least not just yet. Nine players in the starting eleven who weren't at Holker Street last season was never going to be a recipe for success. Give it half a dozen games or so before we press the panic button.

Not a joke at all. The first chance Dagenham had was a one-on-one, after Dunne slipped. You'd expect most strikers to bury that. Then there was the blatant handball not given on Audel. On another day, a penalty could've easily been awarded. Add to that a few more half chances. It's a bit of a joke that you suggest a draw would've been fair! :oops:

Have to agree with that, we were awful first half, defence and midfield not at the races,strikers feeding off scraps all first half.

It really was bad, however we managed to escape with a one goal deficit which are the facts and can see where Mark Johnson is coming from saying we could have got a draw possibly, which in reality is quite incredible given how bad we were first half.

We were much better second and big Moussa was much improved which helped steady the ship.

As Iv said previously, things can only get better.
