I agree - but do you not think even if we had that it would still be too expensive?glasgow_blue wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2017 12:37 pmA half decent stadium with modern facilities would be a start

Re: Barrow v Woking match thread
I think we'd have to accept a loss for a longer term gain, like Eastleigh and Sutton have done..£99 adult season tickets, low prices, U16 free etc. However it would cost investment into the players budget as PC's pockets are not as deep as some. New facilities would help.
Same that away travel should be subsidised, the fanbase is cemented by going away together. The only thing I wouldn't like about that is the club would seek to control. This is done both in the UK and abroad, eg Stoke have free away travel, Ross County another which is a better example.
One thing is for sure- it can't go on being as bad as it was yesterday atmosphere wise.
AS to the game, that was much better IMO and quite enjoyable albeit against a poor Woking side. Our Centre backs were excellent as was ARH, Gomis and White

For some, definitely but how low would you go? Do you take the risk of loosing money short term in the hope of benefitting in the future? I still think it's vital we get in an experienced football person with the job of not only the day to day running of the club but someone who brings fresh ideas regarding the promotion of the club. It's all fine and well looking at Fleetwood etc but what works elsewhere might not work here. It could need a fresh pair of eyes looking at the club and bringing new ideas, after all we've discussed this season after season.bigmac95 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2017 12:40 pmI agree - but do you not think even if we had that it would still be too expensive?glasgow_blue wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2017 12:37 pm

I think a big push when the new floodlights are up and to be used for the 1st time would be a good thing, sell it as an occasion. Sure a few more would come out of curiosity especially if we've had a few results before hand.
Also believe an effort is needed to spread positivity about the place, there is far too much focus on what isn't right against what is good. Think back 3/4 years and see how far we've come.
I'm sure folk will find plenty to moan about when the new lights go up, but there will always be complications in plans for developments with sourcing grants etc.

Have to say that yesterday was a vast improvement on previous two game, but on the whole agree with your post.Hadrian wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2017 11:17 am One person took the trouble to text BBCRC after the game to say he thought we were short of pace. Not the first thought to enter most people's minds after a 3-0 win...
Another pointed out three games, four points, two clean sheets, positive goal difference. (Could have added top half table place.)
Guess it's the difference between glass half-full and broken glasses.
ARH was a beast in midfield. The promise of a decent footballer when he first arrived has developed into a confident, aggressive roaming midfield dynamo. Gomes was excellent; I'm sure he must have Blu Tack-coated boots - his close-control skills are excellent. Really impressed by Nieskens, too, not only as a player but as a team member supporting, organising, talking and developing a relationship with supporters.
On the evidence of friendlies and the two home games, we appear to have a squad of decent numbers made up of sound performers with a strong team ethos. Promising.
We seem to have a united squad who all fight for each other.
A win on Tuesday night would mean a very good start to the season.
Onwards and upwards

Not necessarily the case, besides the 2 groups of forum members you say here there's more groups than that, You will get the casual fan & the once or twice a year type, Some of these will come on here to see what's up & read so much B.S Negativity & some rightful concerns & assume things are bad & think I can not be arsed ( remember they hardly attend anyway ) Probably only a handful but a handful we'd rather attend than stay away.bigmac95 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2017 11:27 am People who come on this forum are dyed in the wool fans and wind up merchants. The Idea that someone read a post from anyone and went 'well no point going now' is ridiculous.
£15 is the issue - I bet if the cost of admission was a fiver then we would get 2000.
Hopefully the upturn in fortunes ( Did people really believe Cox forgot how to spot talent? ) will help the forum return to normality, All Barrow Aren't We.

Great awareness from Yussuf for the first goal
Re: Barrow v Woking match thread
Noticed it was the same 'keeper who had a stinker against us when he played for Solihull last season! Wasn't much better on Saturday it looked!
