“The Garbage Truck Theory.” ... They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you

He's only getting game time because we're running out of fit strikers! The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 5:56 amWell he wasn't wanted. Desperate attempts were made to shift him. Over pre season hes been fairly regular and is now getting gametime.

Lad is improving and stepped up for a high pressure penalty last night. Gives 100% and seems to want to do well for Barrow. Signing was over hyped so expectations were too high, not his fault. Still plenty of time to make a player out of him. Seen much worse at Holker St over the years.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 5:27 pmHe's only getting game time because we're running out of fit strikers! The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 5:56 am

As is Dan Cockerline, it's not an ideal situation to be in, but credit to Dan and Harry for giving it their all and maybe given a few more games we and Paul Cox will know a lot more about the true value they offer to the team.
We certainly blew hot and cold last night, but one thing that was good to see was after one or two in the side looked despondent and lost for twenty five minutes or so was the way they seemed to find that last push, driven on mainly by Moussa, Bedsente and big Dave Nieskens. We would of just caved in a season or two ago after conceeding that many goals.
But in saying that letting such a commanding advantage slip in the way it did second half is not something I want to witness again this season!!

I watched tarpey on bt the other week apart from the goals (both given to him) he didn't do much might be made to eat my words but I didn't rate him if we put pressure on their keeper at set pieces we'll hammer themSi_Nichols wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 9:01 amPar for the course would be two wins, a draw and a defeat I would say so we are slightly down. Anything against Dover at the weekend will be a bonus but we need three points v Maidenhead so someone is going to have to do a job on Tarpey. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 7:03 am Luckily scraping a draw in the last minute with a penalty is a bad result against a side who will be down there come the end of the season. Need to win those games so there is less pressure on beating the likes of Tranmere, Wrexham and Leyton Orient.
Sat 5th: Dagenham & Redbridge 2 - 1 Barrow AFC
Tue 8th: Barrow AFC 0 - 0 FC Halifax Town
Sat 12th: Woking (H)3-0
Tue 15th: Solihull Moors (A)3-3
Sat 19th: Dover Athletic (A)
Sat 26th: Maidenhead Utd (H)
Mon 28th: AFC [SwearFilter] (A)
Playing 3 of the 4 of the newly promoted teams in the first month should mean points on the board.Add to that 2 sides who you'd think will be down there come the end of the season in Woking and Solihull.
You'd hope for a draw against Dover on Saturday. If wins aren't picked up in these games then you've got to wonder where to points will come from throughout the rest of the season without mega changes.
1 win from those first 4 fixtures is not a good start.

Cool Harry slots the equaliser. @Si_Nichols may like to provide an attribution to the uncalled for catcall aimed at that fine gentleman Mr Carter.

Re: Solihull Moors v Barrow match thread
Just watched the highlights. 2 really lucky goals and a penalty. Cant expect those sorts of goals of decent sides, It has to be better.
First goal conceded was a free header centrally. Shouldn't be happening.
Barrow then set up the oppositions second goal through Gomis.
Defence simply sliced open through the middle for the third.
Dover won't hand chances like that to Barrow on Saturday.

I find the Fylde wind up quite amusing tbh. I can't believe there are fully grown adults out there so thick they don't realise what's going on and bite at every bit of bait cast. All say "a former member of this forum get a life". I suggest they had a quiet word with themselves.
