I agree. The only good thing I've ever seen him produce was a great cross for the winning goal at Bristol Rovers. Other than that, he's contributed little in the games I've seen. He was slow last season and that was before he got as overweight as he is now which is completely unprofessional.

Came on here knowing that Hughes would be getting a slating, and I have to agree. He was decent in the first couple of games last season, but has done the sum total of [SwearFilter] all since. I'd rather play someone like Makoma or Barthram out of position than have Hughes in the side at all.

We had the chances to win, and Yussuf and Harrison looked a potentially great combination. Moore pulled off two stunning saves, but his kicking is poor. I would hope we haven't just sacked off 5-3-2 altogether, as it looked good and we haven't got a decent winger at all at the moment. Bauress is out of his depth at this level.
Panayiotou is poor, and aside from one good touch where he pulled it out of the sky, everything bounced off his shins or he fell to the floor meekly - I hope St Kitts have a run of games again soon.

Audel is a centre-back playing out of position, and it shows - I think Moore said he has to take a week off now because of his head injury, so hopefully that's Barthram given a run in the side.

Slightly odd choice for man of the match, when Moussa was dominant for almost all of it.

Obsessed.
Agreed!

The lads a local football manager, giving something back to the community. They play football on a Saturday and train on a Tuesday doesn't take much working out does it. He hasn't got time even if he had the inclination!!! Let's all cut each other some slack, enough already.Time to move on!!
You nearly brought a tear to my glass eye.

Leave poor a former member of this forum alone boo hoo.

I think you will find that he took on his management role this year and had the chance to come along and support Barrow AFC last season but chose not to. Instead he became the keyboard warrior and started to grind his axe against the owners and anything about the club in general.

Like some have said he does make some good points but these are quickly lost in the rest of his vitriol towards the club. He also thinks he is being clever by trying to keep goading people about AFC F ylde on this forum.

He will be back with his response shortly after he's finished washing the kit from yesterday's game!

Are you saying that a man can't defend his son because he hasn't paid for the right to do so?

Only want to see him in the middle of the bench
Very nearly scored the winner rattling the bar from 20 odd yards.

Played some okay football in the second half, after a first where we could have been 3 down. Not sure about this 3 at the back. There were times where we just cut to pieces. Harrison and Yussuff getting a game was a very nice surprise and have everyone a much needed boost. Too many draws atm, similar to last season. Those who we've drawn against will be bottom 6/7.
3 at the back?? We haven't since Dunne got suspended.

I can understand the criticism of Audel, but in fairness to him there was no cover in front of him from Hughes and the number 11 looked a decent player also.

We looked far better second half when Barthram came on even with Hughes still AWOL.

We have the potential to have the best front two in this league with Harrison & Yussef when they are 100%, onwards and upwards, keep the faith

Put Asa Hall in for Hughes and the team that finished yesterday will win a lot of matches.....

He's local Mike. He has said he won't be going to watch Barrow at home this season. Not much of a supporter in my eyes.
I think I might count how many posts Cuffy has aimed towards me this week. I reckon we could be pushing 20

Ive managed a football team for 3 years running and attended about 10 games last season when our games were called off.

Went to tranmere away in the trophy.

Match thread Barrow v Maidenhead!!
Hughes is playing completely out of position and has for most of his time here. Most of his career has been at centre midfield where i believe he should play.
In the first half there were a lot of Barrow players off the pace.Audell was having a mare as he did against Dagenham ,he's definitely not a full back and Gomis wasnt really involved in game enough,ARH was once again missing so to pick out Hughes imo bit unfair.
Improved second half with introduction of Barthram and further improved with Yussuf and Harrison, hopefully can continue improvement at Fylde.

Thanks for that Mr Hughes, but I disagree....
I do agree with your comments about Audel & ARH though

The difference being, Hughes gets picked out for the majority of the games he plays in. Basically not good enough in any position.

Hughes's stick is justified at this moment in time, not last season though. Difference is he's not fit this time round and doesn't look sharp. I actually rate him as a footballer.
