The Next Barrow Manager
Re: The Next Barrow Manager
Maybe Moore is the right man for the job, Ronnie that is!!! With Micky as his assistant, only time will tell. Then it could be the Moore the merrier with Stuart n goal.

Re: The Next Barrow Manager
Holty isn't the right man for the job at the moment. We need an experienced manager who can not only manage the team, but also manage the chairman, head of football, etc, etc.
Concerningly, I suspect the existing structure and how the club is run may actually put off some good candidates! I'd imagine most good managers at this level will want a high degree of control, and Casson obviously does not want to relinquish as much control as most decent managers will insists upon!

Re: The Next Barrow Manager
Whoever it is, what sort of time frame are working to here?? We have two tough looking games to come this Saturday at home to Boreham Wood and the following, away at Tranmere. But arguably the two 'crunch' games if you will at the ones after, at home to both Guisley and Torquay, where we have to look to get maximum points. Does that mean we need to have a fair idea of the incumbent by the Tranmere game, even if they aren't in post, but are ready in the dug out for Guisley game on 12th Sept??
Re: The Next Barrow Manager
If we can use Casson's past actions to determine the future decision I would say Moore has a short period of time to turn things around. Performance has dipped in his two games in charge and we could easily lose the next two. Imo that would be enough to see him make a sharp exit out of the managers role. Or at least just sit there until someone is appointed full time, but the decision will have been made.
As someone has mentioned there is usually a bounce when a new manager takes charge but we've seen the opposite.
Players reaction to Cox going or him being manager? We'll never know but my guess he ain't gonna be round for long.

Maybe the guisely game under the new lights the perfect setting for the new manager

Andrew Casson told me all this after the Maidenhead game.Tom Brownlee wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:54 pm Whoever it is, what sort of time frame are working to here?? Re: The Next Barrow Manager
Much as I think it's essential that Casson stays on board with (at least some) financial clout [see other posts - otherwise the options are dire], the new manager mustn't be a yes man to the dynasty. Therin potentially lies the problem. A subtle but crucial appointment strategy required in its conception and execution. A poisoned chalice if not to pander to the dynasty, or a match made in heaven with capability and funds available? Edmondson gone and Cox gone in short order, neither of them having done particularly badly.
There's a danger that the owner is expecting/demanding too much too soon, and approaching the task of ownership from a naive standpoint.
We do need his dosh though.

Mad how the last two managers have gone because their style of football didn't suit the owner

I think it might be more to do with the players getting splinters in their arses for over 1k a weekThe Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 5:48 am Mad how the last two managers have gone because their style of football didn't suit the owner
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

I think that Casson cannot delegate , his money his ways hence conflict with Paul Cox who as a experienced Manager got sick of itHitthebar22 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 11:20 pm Much as I think it's essential that Casson stays on board with (at least some) financial clout [see other posts - otherwise the options are dire], the new manager mustn't be a yes man to the dynasty. Edmo had to go , but he would not have argued with Casson or hinted at under lying as Paul Cox did.
No real reason why the CEO went he seemed a genuine man but suddenly left.
Maybe Paul Casson needs lessons in man management, rather than the American hire and fire them.
What people are concerned with after all this time there is no public plan its as though its being made up as they go along.
How is the club going to go forward without a Commercial Income?
What we are seeing is short term solutions
Yes Barrow are here because of Paul Casson but its a club built on sand ala the Blackburn mode which is reliant on chickens!
