Liam hughes
Re: Liam hughes
Always huff n puff from Hughes, and seems to be genuinely liked in the squad, but not enough from him on a regular basis, and his fitness for a pro is below that of a local Sunday league player!!
Re: Liam hughes
I don't mind Hughes, seems like a character and was decent on the wing last year.

Re: Liam hughes
Andy 'Judas' Cook was our top scorer for two seasons. He eats Kebabs.
Mick Hartland was no stick insect and he featured in our best ever team (Division 3 ) now Division 2 EFL.

Re: Liam hughes
Liam Hughes is not a bad footballer and appears to have a football brain, can pass a decent ball too, think he is one of the players getting made a scapegoat of Paul Cox regime

Re: Liam hughes
Does anyone actually agree that Liam Hughes is a winger? Not saying he's a bad player, but he doesn't fly down the wing to the byline and get crosses in, ie what a winger does, Not sure what his best position is.

Re: Liam hughes
Doubt Hughes being absent is anything to do with his footballing ability or weight.

Re: Liam hughes
Easy to make him a scapegoat when he's been mostly dreadful since last September. I remember running out of patience with him last season at Guiseley away, saying he'd done nowt since the start of the season - and he's done very little since.Bluebarrowman wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 3:42 pm Liam Hughes is not a bad footballer and appears to have a football brain, can pass a decent ball too, think he is one of the players getting made a scapegoat of Paul Cox regime
There are always going to be scapegoats, while fans' favourites are free of criticism, but watch Hughes for the whole time he's on the field - there is no tracking back or desire to chase down a man, rarely spreads the play, and generally jogs about in the same manner that Mellor did a year earlier. He'll have to put in some incredible performances if he's to get a lot of people back onside.

Re: Liam hughes
Strange how Hughes was everyone's punchbag a month ago...now (apparently) he's being made a scapegoat!
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Liam hughes
Get off his back. He's one player in our squad. Yes he's not a winger....cox never said he was. He used his height and strength out wide to gain throw ins an headers infield against small fullbacks. Percentage tactic which worked.
Those that have a personal problem with him talk to him at the ground.......Face to face.

and if you can't find him at the ground try Pizza Hut or KFC.
