Why give someone a 2 1/2 year contract and then come up with some [SwearFilter] about a 90 day plan? This has to be up there with one of the most uninspiring, baffling but not unsurprising appointments since I've been watching us. I'm expecting Moore to be gone by Christmas and Joe Kinnear to rock up.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

:scarf: The "statement " said it all really.
Owners who are deluded and continue to believe their own publicity...... not a foundation.
They have shown disrespect to loyal fans.
Paul Casson you bought the club and property. You invested as was your decision which we all or most welcomed. It has obviously cost more than you dreamt......no problem if so as you showed interest in trying. No one can take that away from you. Unfortunately it seems you needed cash back? Accounting may have taken over ambition?
Barrow AFC has a loyal fan base who deserve honesty and integrity. Please reflect upon what you're doing.....we are not fools.
Back the club as you promise or deliver a new explanation. Straight as that .

A good time to take a deep breath, and think carefully about what is what at Barrow. Casson came in and arguably changed the club for the better with the injection, by comparison to other clubs, of lots of cash. The upshot of that was promotion under Edmo, and then improvement under Cox to a level not seen here for a long time. Never lose sight of the fact that if Casson hadn't come in, we wouldn't have got to those (for us) heady heights. Beware the spoilt child syndrome - we promised a lot (by January 2017), but then it didn't happen. Do we have an inalienable right to expect promotion challenging sides? A wish, a hope - even an expectation after a good run, but not a right. The expectation for higher things, for some expressed as a right on here, is naive for a small club like Barrow. Yes the chairman flirted those ideas and some of the posters on here have been sucked in by his hyperbole. It might be that the owners believed their own propaganda, but the more discerning fans should have been much more measured than that.
The irony is that the moaners on here have relished the partial success that Casson's money has so far provided, and then rubbished the dynasty for not providing the finished article. They moan at every opportunity, and probably do at home and at work as well.
Moore isn't a popular choice on here, and he may not prove to be the right one, but isn't the point to remain supportive? When I say supportive, I mean to him (otherwise do an Azalea and go and support someone else, even from an armchair), and also to the owners, even if it's at a measured distance. The alternative is to start or support a campaign to get the Cassons out. Suicide for the club in my opinion. It's not like the Premiership where people are queuing up to take over. For those that are anti Casson can I ask who will come in and take over if they leave? Seriously. The Casson's own the ground and the club. They would have to sell to someone willing to take all that over, and all that that entails. Where will the money come from to attract half decent players? I accept that for a small club there should be more communication between those in power and the fans. For the time being all I'd say is stop knocking, give all those in charge of the reins some slack (at least for the time being) and just be supportive. That includes the new manager and the current owner. It's what following your own team is all about. We are fortunate to have full time professional sport in Barrow. To the knockers - be careful what you wish for.

Micky Moore was asked to change the playing style of the team.
Paul Ogden has done a great job building a team with no major weaknesses.
Moore will present a 90 day plan (what did he say at his interview then? if he had one)
The squad is not good enough to get promotion due to injuries and recruitment.
We need to get to December in mid-table before we chop and change.

Just a selection of the utter nonsense I've read from the club.

I hope we end up with a better result than what happened to Rovers... I'll still be going and supporting but I'm bracing myself for relegation and it's only September :(
Without trawling through the many unread posts ahead this is what I thought. As a rovers follower I have witnessed the downfall and it's clear to see what happened to rovers. Myself and my good friend Adam cease to go. Simply because promises...clear open promises were broken. I look at the club over the road from me in Chorley and how they are run with good attendance and a solid youth setup and wonder if learning from such clubs ethos could have helped. It is what it is. Not moores fault but a massive "venky" may have been dropped on our club.

Yes I can see where you're coming from.
Chorley have a good manager and structure. Good attendance too. Friendly club and always been well received there over the years . The Barrow structure is poor . Our owner hardly comes over from Texas but has left his diplomatic son on charge. It's not working .
I think our future is not good

Definitely not an appointment to take the club forward. I really do hope I'm proven wrong but I can see no good times ahead of us and relegation does seem possible after our recent very poor performances. We will be lucky to be able to even field a side on Saturday with all our injuries so I hope there is fast movement in the recruitment of players in the next couple of days

Not our club but I suggest starting with integrity and communication?
Your post hints at someone with a vested interest and connection with the cassons.

Not impressed. Not really surprised though. We need to improve quickly across the board.
