Re: Andrew Casson QnA
Due to current personal circumstances, i really would prefer more notice. I understand this q&a is badly needed but i would have liked to attend, the short notice makes it next to impossible to make arrangements.

Same. I have plans I can't back out of. Think it's a great idea, but feel it's too short notice and may be hit attendance-wiseglasgow_blue wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2017 7:56 pm Due to current personal circumstances, i really would prefer more notice. Re: Andrew Casson QnA
I had made arrangements to attend the last 1 before it was cancelled, only to find out later it wasn't cancelled once the club knew certain supporters weren't going. That's how i read it anyway.Tom Brownlee wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2017 7:59 pmSame. I have plans I can't back out of. I think you will find it was a change of panel/speakers that some people decided not to go. I also recall it could of been worded differently as some thought it had been cancelled. I went and found it to be ok.glasgow_blue wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2017 8:08 pmI had made arrangements to attend the last 1 before it was cancelled, only to find out later it wasn't cancelled once the club knew certain supporters weren't going. Re: Andrew Casson QnA
I can't believe people are still talking about this, but as the person responsible for the posts about the event here is my view
When we realised we would have to postpone the event the following happened:
1) I put a post on the clubs website saying the event was postponed (http://barrowafc.com/fans-qa-postponed/) I perhaps incorrectly assumed that people would click on the link which had the following in the article " The Crossbar will still be open from 7pm-9pm and some of our players will be attending to meet fans, sign autographs and answer any questions you may have! "
2) I posted on facebook that it was postponed. Usually I would just post the link to the website, but on this occasion I also posted "The Crossbar will still be open from 7pm-9pm and some of our players will be attending to meet fans, sign autographs and answer any questions you may have!". Therefore anyone who saw that it had been postponed would also see that the players would be there.
3) I tweeted that it had been postponed, with the link to the website. I also put a tweet out after that saying "Some of our players will be in the Crossbar to meet with fans from 7pm-9pm this evening".
In the end, some people still showed up and had a chat with the players, asking them their thoughts on the season ahead etc. As it happened, Paul Casson still attended so he joined in, asking the players some questions and answering any questions that people had for him.
No one who didn't attend missed anything earth shattering, nothing was planned so certain people wouldn't go, we just tried to make the best of the situation.
The only thing that perhaps I could have done better is change the title on the website post to make it clear that players would be there instead and I can only apologise if anyone feels they missed out because of that!
As for this Friday, I appreciate it is short notice but if it wasn't this Friday then it would have been a week on Friday at the earliest, and given the feeling on here and some ill feeling from Saturday, surely it is best to have it sooner rather than later. I will be covering the event with a report and we will try our best to film it, though I can't make any promises at the moment.

I don't think anyone's blaming you BB, you made the best of the bad hand you were dealt.

Ryan (BB) does, amongst other things, the social media.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Andrew Casson QnA
Come on Mike, If that were the case, just how would the club know which supporters would not turn up?glasgow_blue wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2017 8:08 pm only to find out later it wasn't cancelled once the club knew certain supporters weren't going. That's how i read it anyway.
There was a board meeting earlier that same afternoon where the original format of the Q & A was thrown into doubt quite late on and had to be hastily re-worded (that's where all the confusion came in) That problem was something totally out of our hands and we tried to make the best out of a bad situation.
That is the honest truth of the matter.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Why do people still feel the need to moan about this?

Re: Andrew Casson QnA
Fair play for him for agreeing to the Q&A, wonder if he's finally going to admit [SwearFilter] all is going to happen to HS in regards to any re-development
Just my opinion

Re: Andrew Casson QnA
Not at all Finbar, as Ian said I help run the clubs social media, edit the programme and I help out where I can at home games too.
I'm easy to spot on match days, just look for the guy with his head down trying to tweet what just happened whilst also trying to watch what is about to happen
