Cox was put in a corner and left for Guisley needs to earn a wage.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 8:40 pm I don't for one second believe that Paul Cox was allowed to get the players he wanted. I have no idea whether Cox or Ogden was responsible for bringing in players last season but it should have been obvious to anybody after a few games that the level of player brought in this season was far inferior to last season. Whether that was because whoever chose the players last season was not allowed to do it this season or whether it was just because the budget available was much lower and therefore we couldn't afford any decent players I have no idea. I'd be pretty sure that Cox resigned because he knew exactly what was going to happen with the players brought in and that he wouldn't be able to do much about it but I'm pretty sure he'd make a better effort than Moore even with what is a distinctly mediocre squad of players. IMO, we've lost 4 of our 6 best players from last season in Livesey, Anderton, Williams and Bennett and of the other 2, Diarra will be out for weeks and Harrison is patently not yet fit. We've also lost 3 more in Beeley, Hannah and Turnbull who would get into the current team as would last season's loanees, Tuton and Wright. Even last season we weren't quite strong enough to get into the playoffs but the current team is a shadow of that team.
Mickey Moore is a ideal replacement the Great Leader says something and Mickey will say you took the words out of my mouth ,what was that again?

Once again you've stated what's wrong (in your opinion) but what's the solution...?Pedro wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 9:02 pmDead easy he obviously bought the club as a business .
No way are we going to make a profit
In 3 years how far has the Commercial side developed.
Taking money of St Mary's Hospice showed his intent really bad PR.
If he wanted promotion he should have given Cox money for players but that would have meant more money had to be spent.
In short speculate to get us promoted.
900 k is not on players alone it's fake news
Last year we outbid Morecambe a league club for there own full back Beeley ,we brought in Hannah,Turnbull etc all players on decent money and replaced them with poor quality players.
I will be honest Casson does not see us making a profit it's draining his money so he is trying to balance the books.
Relegation is a way of doing that alot of players will leave and costs will be cut.
People keep saying be carefull what you wish for.
Well I may be wrong but to me Casson will take us down he same route as if he pulled out

Re: BARROW V MAIDSTONE match thread
We are lacking a leader on the field.
When Livesey was released not only did we lose a good centre half, we lost our leader on the pitch.
Now we don't have one off it or on it.

Re: BARROW V MAIDSTONE match thread
A squad that's properly motivated and take pride in wearing our shirt.
Players and manager that are in tune with the fans both on and off the pitch.
We had a lot of that......
Re: BARROW V MAIDSTONE match thread
It looked today like the players didn't even know what style of play the manager wanted them to be playing. Every time we got to their box we passed it along their 18 yard line and then 10 seconds later were back in our own half. Looked like strangers today

Still amazed why probably one of our best Centre Backs in the last 20years was allowed to leave so easily.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 9:55 pm We are lacking a leader on the field.

When we had little money our teams showed more pride. Cox took us back in there.
Moore is not the man we require.... he knows it himself. Strange no assistant appointed? Perhaps he's not allowed one? Or he's on his last few games and would be senseless to let him find a mate....again.

Re: BARROW V MAIDSTONE match thread
Classed myself as a keen supporter (started supporting ironically, after we were booted out of the league) .Last season I went to 90% of home games and a couple away . This year I been to just two home games (Guisely was my last) . My point ? It doesn't seem my club anymore, tbh I've Lost interest, we are a selling club, last seasons player of the year let go ,basically a complete new set of players , I'm picking my matches , no atmosphere , use easy excuses to miss home games etc etc.
Everything just seems pssfffff - takes big sigh - is it just me ? Gone are the days of going out of habit . I'll still go to games but when it suits and not because I feel I have too. We are in a right doodoo and need a catalyst to change the way things are going, something is not right and everyone knows it all these promises just seem pie in the sky . Sorry for being so glass half empty - not posted for ages .

How many [SwearFilter] times? Livesey wasn't released, his contract was up and was a free agent.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 9:55 pm We are lacking a leader on the field.
