How many [SwearFilter] times? Livesey wasn't released, his contract was up and was a free agent.

Think Livesey-type player is the key here: we no longer have one. Should replace like for like, look at Everton.

Re: BARROW V MAIDSTONE match thread
in those days you felt like every penny mattered. Program, pint, raise the roof draw and your entrance fee kept the club from folding. The players played like their lives depended on it. Now, as I've said before, its not natural, we arent really needed. We are just spectators and for most of us thats alien. The volume of posts and complaints show we care, but the lack of quality and leadership is driving people away.NUFFSAID wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 10:04 pm Classed myself as a keen supporter (started supporting ironically, after we were booted out of the league) .Last season I went to 90% of home games and a couple away . This year I been to just two home games (Guisely was my last) . My point ? It doesn't seem my club anymore, tbh I've Lost interest, we are a selling club, last seasons player of the year let go ,basically a complete new set of players , I'm picking my matches , no atmosphere , use easy excuses to miss home games etc etc.
Everything just seems pssfffff - takes big sigh - is it just me ? Gone are the days of going out of habit . I'll still go to games but when it suits and not because I feel I have too. We are in a right doodoo and need a catalyst to change the way things are going, something is not right and everyone knows it all these promises just seem pie in the sky . Sorry for being so glass half empty - not posted for ages .
Fans need to be entertained and believe. Neither are being addressed. Are this team good enough to stay up?
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

Talking of inspiration. You're a 'loanee' player. You turn up to Holker St. A land that time forgot, a ground that looks like it's Frickley 1983. What you gonna 'feel'? Inspired..? The gaffer's right, it seemed to matter to us all back then.

I quite liked Frickley's slag bank Kop! Definitely one of the best pies I've had at any ground as well.mulholland wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 12:11 am Talking of inspiration. You're a 'loanee' player. Keeping the faith is bloody hard at the moment. We only had one gear for the last eighty odd minutes and that was neutral for the most part. Thinking of going to watch some walking football tomorrow to witness an increase in pace.
Question for the Barrow hierarchy why did we end up playing our most influential midfielder Clements just infront of our back five, absolutely madness!!

The key to what ? Our defence has been our strongest area to be fair and we are missing the excellent Moussa.Creativity in midfield is lacking and we have white upfront who is,well it rhymes with his name, and unfortunately dixons back, his decision making on coming out for balls is atrocious. We like a relegation dogfight, midfield security is for wimps,or peoples from swarthmoor.mulholland wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 11:49 pm Think Livesey-type player is the key here: we no longer have one. You mean a question for our "wet blanket " of a manager, how can he seriously motivate anyone.McMark wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2017 2:39 am Keeping the faith is bloody hard at the moment. Solution get a proven manager who is given some money or a ex league playerBig E wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 9:43 pmOnce again you've stated what's wrong (in your opinion) but what's the solution...?Pedro wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2017 9:02 pm
Dead easy he obviously bought the club as a business .
No way are we going to make a profit
In 3 years how far has the Commercial side developed.
Taking money of St Mary's Hospice showed his intent really bad PR.
If he wanted promotion he should have given Cox money for players but that would have meant more money had to be spent.
In short speculate to get us promoted.
900 k is not on players alone it's fake news
Last year we outbid Morecambe a league club for there own full back Beeley ,we brought in Hannah,Turnbull etc all players on decent money and replaced them with poor quality players.
I will be honest Casson does not see us making a profit it's draining his money so he is trying to balance the books.
Relegation is a way of doing that alot of players will leave and costs will be cut.
People keep saying be carefull what you wish for.
Well I may be wrong but to me Casson will take us down he same route as if he pulled out
manager like we had with Vic Halom he had a football brain and Diamond did the running .
We disbanded a good team sold the best players,Livsey public stated he was suprised he was not offered a contract.
The consistent bad decisions by Casson in the 3 yrs makes me wonder if the plan is to build houses on Holker Street.
I can see it now Casson Ave,Casson Close ,Mickey Mouse Street with a statue of the Great Leader so people who supported him can go visit it and say I remember when this was a football pitch but thanks to the Great Leader we now have executive houses for people coming to work here

Re: BARROW V MAIDSTONE match thread
The presenter on RC after the game was goading the Barrow fans a bit I thought along the lines of you complained about hoofball and now when the new manager is trying to play out from the back you are compaining about that too.
Okay he's trying to get some reaction to energise the show and there was quite a bit of comment about this style of play - more so Edmo than Cox I think. However, 'Route One' is a recognised tactic - not for the purist maybe but if it's successful as a supporter you'll take it. What we seem to have under 'WB' is "nothingball" which isn't a recognised tactic as recent results would testify.
