New Roof required
Re: New Roof required
Hopefully the insurance will cover the repair otherwise it's an expense we don't need. As others have said, could have been a lot worse with metal flying down a public area at speed. Thankfully it's just the stand that was damaged.
*Edit, any pictures of the damage not taken on a T68i?

Re: New Roof required
Surely the money generated from this year's FA Cup run would cover the costs?
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

My wife was driving past and a corrugated sheet flew past the front of her car.
Don't mess with them.

were the strange noises Moore getting told the news by Mr Casson !spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 9:45 pmNeed a bit more than cellotape for that job mate....
Just been down to let the fire brigade have a look inside. There's plenty of strange noises whizzing around inside the ground so it might not have finished yet. Hard to see exactly how big it is but it's fair to say it's a fairly large chunk.
The section that has come off is the piece above the B in the main stand, that's now lying at the far end of Wilkie Rd.
The Soccer bar car park looked very busy, so we've been very lucky no one was walking or driving past.
Re: New Roof required
Is this the chance to re-roof the whole stand and put end wind shields in as well. Since it was built 20 years ago there have been advances in lightweight polycarbonate materials which are also cheaper than this old corregated sheeting. The leading edge can be fully translucent. I don't know if they can survive the Holker Street westerlies though.

Given that they can't manage to wire up a speaker guessing the hole will be there for some time
Not like Barrow fans to exaggerate tho ! With talk last night of the whole roof having blown away and the stand in ruins.

Took a few pictures today Charlie, PM me your (or anyone who wants them) e-mail address and I'll send them out.
There's no damage to anything other than this missing section, which is a sizable chunk.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

It was part of Moore’s settlement he’s took part of the roofs cladding home for his shed. It’s what Casson reports as best for buisness

Re: New Roof required
A bit off topic so please don't whip me but not as easy as wiring a speaker, Bingo. As cables were not laid when the floodlights went in, it is now very hard to find a cable route, as they cannot be fixed to the new floodlights as these need to be dropped for maintenance, lamp replacement etc. The best option now would be to use a wireless system but this would require a good quality wireless mic set (Sennheiser or Shure - no cheap crap) and a separate amplifier in that stand. If there is any delay at all, even a few milliseconds, an echo would be created. I said an echo would be created. Ha! Ha! Okay, I have had my morphine and thought that funny.
Radio Lonsdale would be more than willing to assist the Club with a wireless trial which would cost the Club nothing. They may already have plans of their own though.
