None of ours obviously. I agreed with a comment I read the other day about a missed opportunity on Danny Livesey being lined up for coaching role. I think that's something we could've looked at closer in a bid to keep him for this season. Would he still be interested? Too much of a punt perhaps when we don't need one.

I agree with your suggestion and think it's a good ide, isn't Danny injured now? Or have I made that up?

We went and watched Salford play at home to Leamington about ten days ago. Danny wasn't in the squad, nobody sat around us knew why.

Of the names on this thread so far I wouldn't mind Brabin. No point in people saying, "ah, but he did crap at X"...all managers get sacked, all managers have crap gigs. You need to look at the overall body of work. Another thing, the idea that blokes won't apply because we've had two managers this season is garbage. Unemployed football managers would walk over hot coals for a way back into the game - no matter the goings on at prospective new clubs.

All this speculation and polls is all very nice to while away a few minutes at the keyboard and give PC and AC some ideas, as they obviously need some if the last appointment is anything to go by, but for goodness sake we are in serious do-do so let's do it in the professional manner.

I disagree. In our current predicament I think we need the right man in sooner rather than later, we don't need to advertise and conduct interviews to know who is out there with the right credentials. By the same token, out of work managers will know the job is available and if they're really interested they'll throw their hat into the ring of their own accord. I would rather see us be proactive, go out there and get the right, proper manager in asap rather than sit and wait for applications to come in and in the meantime remain ruderless and slipping further into a relegation battle.

I think some are being a wee bit harsh on Gary Mills. Promotion back to football league and an fa trophy win in his 1st spell at York and pay offs and trophy final with Gateshead. Went back to York under difficult circumstances and almost kept them up ( relegated on the last day of the season ), yes, they did have a big budget due to the parachute payment but there was a lot of turmoil at the club tbf. His record is actually better than what i thought. He's had his failures admittedly but all managers have had failures. The manager with a perfect record doesn't exist, especially at this level.

Mills applied for the job last time - even when he was still at york. Ticks the boxes from an experienced point of view. Doesn't take any rubbish - be interesting how he would work with the cassons and the interfering etc.
He would be my choice given the lack of experienced managers who are available at our level

I wouldn't be upset with Mills or Brabin. Some decent managers out there who would jump at the Barrow gig. No need to put an ad in the NW Evening Mail...as someone said above, be proactive, go after your man.

Really want someone who has been at a bigger club than Barrow who can rid us of our smalltime Barrow perception which is never far away in our mindset. This only ever went when Cox was manager who showed we could compete at the right end with the bigger clubs. Soon as he went and Moore came in those feelings came back.
